Zenimax buying id software

Apparently Zenimax, owners of bethesda and mad duck studios has acquired id software. I have seen it confirmed anywhere just posted on the twitter of some folks who work at PC Gamer magazine and someone from Edge magazine.

IF it's true it could be one major buy considering the catalogues behind each company.

yeah imagine a doom rpg of oblivion proportions or some other sort of title mixing their IPs

Maybe we will get an Elder Scrolls or Fallout game that pushes graphics a little more. I'd like that.

if rage turns out to be as good as id have been working it i can see it turning into a major franchise if they can incorporate some of bethesda's mentality into a possible sequel.

Will this affect the titles already in development by id?

Hope it doesn't mess with Doom 4.

Doubt it, they officially begun work on Doom4 in May last year, would be a hell of a job to redesign everything from base upwards again.
