Somewhat later that expected (holidays and things) I sorted out my replacement.
Called them about 3.30pm yesterday, simple 5 minute call. They guy brought a replacement before midday today. I kept all my accessories and wires and box, just a straight swap of the screen and stand.
Identical model and revision A04 but I'm happy with that.
I really must phone Dell about my 2407 - I have exactly the same problem but can't be bothered with the hassle I always seem to go through when I call them.
I managed to twist the button round to a position where it now works and put a bit of sellotape over it to stop it spinning and then not working again
I used to work for dell technical support and if you mention to them there is no display on the monitor and the self test fails they will automatically replace it.
went to turn on monitor and no movement in the switch
finally after lots of pushing and fiddling it worked but a bit worrying - may call Dell later
I don't think its over use .... you should see the input button, which has no label on it at all after so many times of jumping from the VGA input (XBOX) and PC (DVI) and that ones fine
My power button broke so i took the casing off the monitor and added some blu-tac to hold the switch in place. Worked ever since, just missing an actual click sound.
Looks like its time for me to phone Dell and get the button sorted Happened few days ago on my 1st 2407, think its 3years old but had 4 or 5 year warranty.
Is there a direct number I can call or do I just have to go through Dell Technical Support?
An old thread, but my buttons now broken. My original was bought back in Aug 2006 (this one was replaced in Aug 2008). Only had 3 year warranty, so looks like a DIY fix it job for me.
