I was going to go for this t-mobile n97 deal in the following link:

http://www.mobilephonesdirect.co.uk...7&gclid=CPa3j4DJo5sCFc0B4wodzUJNBg#tabsAnchor

"combi 30+ web n walk" which says "unlimited mobile web"

now since visiting the official t-mobile website. I kind of get the feeling i am being mislead, apparently I pay an extra £1 a day for "completely unlimited" which is more aimed at the the on off users, or £6 extra per month for totally unlimited.

Are there any other caps I should know about?

Whats the difference between T-mobiles unlimited and vodafones unlimited web package?

Need to make my mind up as im ordering my new phone tomorrow.

I have web'n'walk on my T-mobile flext-t contract and I believe the 'fair-use' policy is 1gb per month. To be honest though I have never gone over 100mb on my E71 data usage.

Yeah fair point but when you have more demanding apps out these days and you are not on your home or someones wireless connection then 3g data could get pretty intense when you start using your phone to download, or watch bbc iplayer etc.

Ive been on Web and Walk for 2 years - brilliant, its fast, I use it connected to my laptop (even though you arent supposed to) and went over 1Gb once, they are fine with it.

When my Virgin Internet went down for about a week, my T-Mobile Web'n'Walk was a lifesaver. I hooked it up to my PC and used it for everything. I could even play WoW over it and get a pretty decent gameplay experience. I must have gone enourmously over my 1GB limit that month, but I didn't hear anything about it.

Good enough for me :)

I had a read around and placed my order for the same tariff earlier today, no word on dispatch or order completion. From what understand, T-Mobile offer multiple packages, the page most appropriate is: http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/services/mobile-internet/on-your-phone/

I don't know where the £6 extra a month comes from but with the tariff you mention, Combi 30, web n walk, thats the £30 a month tariff with the £5 a month Internet addon. This addon is for the life of the contract and cannot be removed and has the 1gb fair usage policy.

If you wish to add and remove the addon from month to month then you could get the normal combi 30 and then phone t-mobile as and when you want to activate the addon, however, it costs £7.50 instead of £5.00 a month as you are only tied to it for a month at a time.

All in all, on the selected tariff it will be £35 a month data inclusive :) Hope that helps!

Some pretty good deals on T-Mobile for that phone it seems, You can get an 18 month contract with 200 mins and 200 texts a month with unlimited internet for a total of only £550, which is only £50 more than a Sim-Free one from Play.com I'm almost tempted.

Does anyone know if Vodafone's "unlimited" "web" is any Internet service (HTTP, SMTP, POP, IMAP, iTunes, other data etc..) or just HTTP on port 80? I remember hearing from somewhere that it was just web, and other data services were still charged by the kb.

I'm using Vodafone's service for SMTP/IMAP/iTunes/work VPN for the last month or so (TalkTalk is failing miserably to get my broadband set up in my new place...), and haven't been charged extra for data...
