Hiya, I've decided to give my current PC a cheap upgrade until I can buy a complete system after the summer. I'm trying to keep it all under £170. What I've got ATM is MS-6741 motherboard, AMD64 2.4GHz processor, NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT and 2 gig of ram.

From looking in the store I've found what I think should be a decent upgrade and keep me going until I get a more expensive computer.

What I've currently found is:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 7850+ Black Edition 2.80GHz (Socket AM2+) - Retail
XFX ATI Radeon HD 4650 512MB TV-Out/HDTV/HDMI (PCI-Express) - Retail
Foxconn M61PMV nForce 430 (Socket AM2/AM2+) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
Kingston HyperX 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 6400C4 800MHz Dual Channel (KHX6400D2LLK2/4G)

1) What I'm worried about is that will all of this be compatible with each other?
2) I've only got a 300 watt power supply, will this be enough for these?
3) I'm pretty sure the new mobo should fit in my current case but I'm not sure, the current dimensions of the mobo are 9.45 x 9.45 and the board I'm buying is 9.6 x 8 (inches). Sadly I don't know what the model name of my case is =\.
4) Should the stock cooler that comes with the CPU be good enough for normal use, I don't plan on overclocking or anything so I pressume its built for it.

Thanks for taking the time to read! =D

Edit:sorry about misspelling title, turns out you can't edit it... >.>

i personally would wait, stick with what you have for a few more months, and just buy a new one, you would get some benefit and the bits seem to go together ok?

if anything buy a new psu that will do you for your new one too. just my opinion and if you really cant wait but an intel dualcore, imo

Someone on here had major problems with that Foxconn motherboard the other week. Turns out that the max memory voltage is 1.85v, which seriously limits the RAM you can use. I'm not sure it would work with that RAM since it needs 1.9v.

Even when the guy bought replacement RAM, the board still didn't work properly. I'd pick a different one as it seems a bit iffy.

Depends if it's a decent one or not. Which make?

Don't see any reason why it shouldn't fit. :)

It'll be fine - that's not an especially hot CPU.

Ok, thanks for the reply Mattus and Baten. I think I probably am going to put a bit more money in a buy a better motherboard which I can keep when I upgrade fully, as I really don't want any hassle with the motherboard as this will be my first time upgrading/building.
