I'd like to see a law come into place that to have a licence to hunt animals with a gun, you first have to hunt, and kill, a fully fit, fully grown tiger with a garrotte. Solo.

Only then should you be able to hunt other, more defenceless animals, with a namby pamby gun

i also think supermarkets should have live animals that you have to hunt and kill for food, be less packaging, though i don't see cows being much fun for hunting....maybe i've not thought this through..

I've shot literally hundreds of thousands of rounds and not a single one has been at a living creature (except a couple of BBs at a friend when we were at a range and he wondered whether they hurt or not so I offered to borrow his BB gun (I didn't have one) and used it on him from about five yards).

There are many other reasons to have firearms than killing.

There are many firearms about whose primary purpose is not for killing. Of course, there are many designed just for that reason, but my point is that not all guns are designed solely for the purpose of wiping out living creatures.

I was quite happy shooting clays and cans when I was into shooting.

Guns are designed to kill fair enough but that isn't what they must do.

In Las Vegas in 2005, I was quite merry blatting off a fully automatic M16A2 at a paper target even though it would cut someone in two for its designed purpose.

You would have to goarotte a zillion rangers and pay off local officials first, there are only about 3,500 of these beautiful beasts left in the wild
