Windows 7 hits RC stage Build 7100

I'm trying to set a schedule to run WidescreenFixer at BF2 startup, what do i need to do different in task scheduler from the above guide re windows startup tasks? I think it should b something in Triggers but i cant find it :(

What isn't it doing, what is the problem m8?
It started working after installed an application compatibility fix from MS :D.

Unrelated question has anyone found there video output to be a little off it's hard to explain but everythings kind of a bit 'liney' if that makes sense?

Glad your torrent app is sorted. I've had the odd liney on desktop and just put it down to drivers, no problems in game though:)

Debating skills? you're talking complete rubbish compared to the feedback most of us are getting through W7.

And btw that was quite the way to sum up a person from a single forum post which wasn't rude just factual, if you're results relative to the rest of us make you feel marginalised then perhaps you need to work on your own skillset instead of trying to belittle others.

From what I'm reading I'm not the only one who has come to similar conclusions or findings with W7. I don't feel marginalised in the slightest why should I, after all I can only report what I find.

Your response clearly shows your lack of debating skills so it's not something I can hold against you as we all have different life skills. However, your rudeness I cannot excuse - there's an old saying "manners maketh the man" clearly this concept has passed you by. :o

Ladies, can you take the handbag war to email or something - I'm sure Im not the only one getting sick of you guys trashing this otherwise helpful thread ;)

General question without reading the whole thread.......

Are you guys installing this on test machines or just your main home PC? I'm pretty sick of Vista and thinking of trying to Windows 7 beta. Any news on how things like games run?

If your sick of Vista then don't bother try Linux or OSX - W7 is Vista in a summer frock.

Although it's less of a memory hog and has a different UI. It being similar to Vista helps with compatibility which is good :).

Actually I found in line with many bench tests reports that the opposite was true. When I had finished loading up all my usual clutter on my poorly spec'd Laptop (see earlier posts) I found that W7 was taking more RAM than Vista and was not nearly as responsive either. Reason could be that W7 is still a work in progress but I was glad to get back to Vista. As a Vista user there is little there that would justify the expense of an upgrade though I appreciate that it would be beneficial for an XP user. Having said that, as an ex XP user on two of my three oldish machines that I upgraded to Vista I could never see any good reason for not installing Vista either (apart that is from the Ovine Syndrome).

Fair enough it's supposed to be more memory efficient. It is for me but I've got 3gigs of RAM.

I see no reason to upgrade from Vista to W7 either. If a machine isn't running well on Vista, in many cases it is memory related, and a memory upgrade is way cheaper than buying W7 and more beneficial as well. From XP to W7 - maybe yes. Personally my policy in the last few years has been NEVER to upgrade. Just run the machine with the O/S you bought it with until the end of its life

I can see where you're coming from, though do you not upgrade because of the hassle or hardware reasons? Most machines I use evolve and change so much throughout their life that they're not the same machine I bought, and so an OS upgrade would be suitable for some.

I'm planning on taking advantage of the £50 offer for Win7 retail, unless they're doing a better version available if you're a student like they did with vista.

If you never upgrade that's fair enough. I installed windows 7 beta as my laptop hdd died so I thought I'd try it out...

I don't upgrade because XP does everything I need it to do. Vista/W7 is flashier, but I don't *need* it - the one XP box which I have (a 3+ yr old quad with 4Gb RAM) will just remain as XP until it dies. There is no good reason to upgrade it. The boxes I built in the last couple of years had Vista of course. I got another machine recently and that came with no O/S at all. A no-brainer that I will buy W7 for that. Basically - I just get the latest O/S that is available at the time of the build/purchase, and then that's it for the life of that machine.

I have three machines all running Vista HP very happily - for me to upgrade even were the price to be the rumored £50 it would still set me back £150. Now as the alleged additional W7 benefits over Vista are very limited then I would have to be barking mad to spend that sort of money. I have heard that Vista SP2 will add some of W7's features in any event and I prefer the Vista UI anyway.
