LLoyds TSB's "Islamic Account"

And to the idiots in the thread (they know who they are), if a couple of hundred thousand British people suddenly turned up living in primarily Muslim country, companies would jump at the opportunity to offer products and tailor-made to their cultures, beliefs etc. If you create a big enough market, companies will supply it, if they can make revenue from it (either primary, or secondary).
 
What makes me laugh is that people think banks are "pandering" to Islamic people by providing bank accounts, and it "disgusts" them.

I guess they have never heard of supplying a demand.
 
The UK is a secular state which allows freedom of religious expression. Anyone who doesn't like that can go somewhere else, be they muslims or christians.
 
Don't encourage him! Before you know it he'll be on the members market and only choosing to sell to "people who are meant to be in this country".

Indeed. The problem is that in an islamic economic system, inflation wouldn't really exist in its current form. Therefore applying such things to the UK monetary system, where inflation exists and where banks will happily take your money then give it to borrowers with an interest rate, futile.

Sounds fair enough to me, if that's what they want then so be it. It isn't as though they are getting anything we aren't.

lol @ those who say things such as 'If I were to go to Tehran and ask for a bank account where by I get interest they would be all up in my face like... HELL NO, INFIDEL!'.

The freedom this country offers is what makes it so damn good. So what if there are Islamic bank accounts and halal food served in fast food chains; it isn't affecting you in any negative way so why on earth are you moaning.
