the real problem here is that there shouldnt be banks based on any religious belief.

its a bank.

If everyone's God is so loving and caring i'm sure he won't mind you earning a bit of interest....

it's a little a pathetic to be honest. The last time my imaginary friend told me I couldnt do something perfectly reasonable I told him to **** off.

People **** themselves with indignation when muslim women are granted privacy in accordance with their beliefs, or muslim schools don't want non-muslim kids attending - or even will not provide for their religion, but when it happens the other way around, it's fine.

You won't find any catholic schools praying to Allah, and nobody complains.

Not it isn't. Islam isn't a race. It is a religion. If anything he is being secularist. And I for one agree. It is wrong. what next, a catholic mortgage, a pagan mortgage. If you say no to these, then that is hardly fair. But then, what do you expect from Orwells Britain, when some are more equal than others.

Welcome to mutli-culturalism, where there is not one culture, but many incompatible cultures living together. Now there's a great idea if ever I saw one. Disagree with it, then you're a racist and that's that argument solved (groan)... (Cue smug gaurdian reader in ivory tower feeling rather pleased with himself despite missing the argument completely and not wishing to actually engage in discussion, instead labelling anyone who choses to disagree with their obviously righteous viewpoint with an insult and a slur on their character)

That would be me then. Shame both the Catholics and the Muslims would string me up. I'm not sure if my minority card trumps the muslim card if I said I don't like Islam. I can call Christians all day, as that's ok, but say owt about muslims and i'm racist. The mind boggles. Yeah, yeah, i'm a devient and I hear I am going to hell. Why don't they imams calll for the death of anyone like me, ooh wait, they already have.

TBH, I have no time at all for religion. I read somewhere back someone was complaining about backward thinking and that it is 2009, yup. No time for the ramblings of men from the stone age who believe in fairies (not that kind, I wish!). So no point in having a stupid Islamic bank account then is there... Unless, you believe in make believe...

I think it's you that's missing the point...

They would prefer this type of bank account. It is not more favourable than any other bank account, less so even. You can have one too.

It is not an Muslim ONLY bank account, it is a Muslim FRIENDLY bank account.

I eat bagels, I don't spend my time ****ing and moaning on the internet about the Jews being allowed their own special bread.

Seriously, get a grip. I'm not righteous, I'm not overly moral, I don't appreciate any instances where white British people are treated worse than others in Britain... but outside of the papers I don't see or hear about it. It happens where my girlfriend lives in East London, and it winds me up, but that's East London. My rights are not infringed by a Muslim being allowed to have a crap bank account if he wants one.
 
Some people are really stupid, why are people getting fussed about the account? muslims are refusing interest, THATS ALL THERE IS TO THE BANK ACCOUNT!
If they do have a normal bank account, when they receive the interest they simply give it to charity.

Looking into it further, yes you are correct. That'll teach me to assume stuff like that. Nevertheless, does being technically non-secular in practice make us different from France on issues on religion.

WELCOME to the UK, where everyone is everyone, this country has started growing into a multicultural society where all beliefs are accepted! Apart from all the messed up ones e.g forced arranged marriages and such but still, with banks!? NO ONE is asking you or forcing you to make your account like that!

I think more people would take you seriously if you knew the difference between 'there' and 'they're (they are).

'Islamic banking' still involves interest, just under a different name.

It's basically a service charge to get a loan so isn't exactly the same as interest, even though it actually is.
