A bank account with moral values of a different country! Shock Horror! There is no chance I can just let that live along side me in my country!

KFC, Halal style! Along side MY KENTUCKY STYLE CHICKEN?! Shock horror! What will they do next? Can't believe a company is killing and making chicken in a style that is in line with someone else's views that isn't Christian and British.

Why do you people kicking up a fuss really care? It doesn't even make your day any bit harder, you still can go as you please, you just don't have to open an Islamic bank account, or eat Halal KFC!

And to the "aaaahh, this is where it starts, what next?" crowd - grow up, we leave in a world filed with a million and one different ethnic groups, no one said we had to stay where we were - a little bit of influence from another country is great.

well it seems muslims do get interest free loans after all, taken from the islam institute of banking uk-

"Most of the Islamic banks also provide interest free loans (Qard Hasan) to their customers. If this practice is not possible on a significant scale, even then, it is adopted at least to cover some needy people. Islamic view about loan (Qard) is that it should be given to borrower free of charge. A person is seeking a loan only if he is in need of it. Hence, it is a moral duty of the lender to help his brother who may be in need. The borrower should not make an effort to take advantage of somebody needs. He should help the needy by lending him money without any charge. The reward of this act is with the God. Hence, it is referred as Qard Hasan (benevolent loan) which signifies the benevolent nature of the act of lending.

The practices of various Islamic banks in this respect differ. Some Islamic banks provide the privilege of interest free loans only to the holders of investment account with them. so can i go in to an islam bank, say i am muslim and get an interest free loan?

At least 85 Islamic sharia courts are operating in Britain, a study claimed yesterday.

The astonishing figure is 17 times higher than previously accepted.


The tribunals, working mainly from mosques, settle financial and family disputes according to religious principles. They lay down judgments which can be given full legal status if approved in national law courts.
However, they operate behind doors that are closed to independent observers and their decisions are likely to be unfair to women and backed by intimidation, a report by independent think-tank Civitas said.

Commentators on the influence of sharia law often count only the five courts in London, Manchester, Bradford, Birmingham and Nuneaton that are run by the Muslim Arbitration Tribunal, a body whose rulings are enforced through the state courts under the 1996 Arbitration Act.

But the study by academic and Islamic specialist Denis MacEoin estimates there are at least 85 working tribunals.

The spread of sharia law has become increasingly controversial since its role was backed last year by Archbishop of Canterbury Dr Rowan Williams and Lord Phillips, the Lord Chief Justice who stepped down last October.

Because a western account is a christian/jewish account. The only reason it is an Islamic bank account is because it is not in it's native country, if it was in it's native country it would be called "Bank account"

I don't think you get that it's a separatley named bank account not because its for Muslims, but because their banking system follows different ethics and morals.

you cant say you have never went into a **** shop where they either put your change on the counter for you to pick up, or drop it in your hand without contact.

If Mr Average, white non muslim man in this country set up his own court and created his own law he would find himself in jail quicker than he could do up his bootlaces (and quite rightly so) but as its a minority religious group it is tolerated.

err I quote the june bombings, yes they were born here, but there parents weren't.

Intergration doesn't work. Lets just close the borders.

In typical, white man, middle class way, I'm proberly going to leg it to Canada or New zealand in two years if I can. Just can't stand this country much more, our backbone has been in broken, just let Britian die gracefully!!
