A long weekend in Ireland?

Whatever you do, don't be tempted to come to Derry.

For tourists we have ... a wall around the city where you can view feral wino's in their natural habitat whilst being pelted by stones from the Fountain estate. A railway museum which has closed down and a big river with 2, yes 2 bridges which are handy for getting the **** outta Dodge.

The nightlife is equally crap, pubs are usually rammed with 14 year olds, the only sizeable nightclub is a crap-hole where you're likely to get the crap kicked out of you for no apparent reason, and even if it doesn't happen there you can guarantee it'll happen in one of the numerous taxi ranks.

Do as others have suggested, pick somewhere, anywhere down the West coast.

Brought to you by the Derry Tourism Board. :D

Ohh Derry sounds like a nice place to go lol, Reminds me of the colour of magic where the tourist wants to go to the pub

lol derry is a hole, there's not a lot there, belfast is so much cooler, really coming up these days.

if you're in the north coast check out the whole coast road from portstewart to ballycastle and all the site along it.

bushmills distillery (black bush is the best whiskey)
also try guiness ofcourse and harp :D

although people said not to go to dublin, you should it's awesome, the temple bar area is just so much craic, it's so lively way past 2am every night, although a pint is 6.70 so just watch out and get some carry outs from the north if you're wanting to get drunk.

BTW i would suggest you do not come here around the 12th July cause the backward minded people will just put you of this country sadly.

btw the weather for this week is suppose to be awesome and well that's a rare thing

Go to Dublin Zoo and you can pet a Tiger like the fool did the day i was there lol.

Go to BallyCastle when the hurlings on bound to see a fight

Definitely come to Belfast!!!! There's a good atmosphere in the town and there's a lot of festivals around this time of year. Like someone said above though, don't come on the 12th July or just before/after it because things can get messy.

Unfortunatley all i saw or Belfast was the road from the Docks to the road leading to Newry. would have liked to see it, Definetly glad i passed Newry tho.

Yea avoid Ireland on the 12th unless you have Either of the following A Big Drum, a Flute and a lot of orange.

AKA A load of *****

if you like golf there are tones of courses about the north coast, i believe it's £150 a round at portrush or something though.

i don't know if you're driving or not but it's only like £13-15 for a return bus journey between belfast and dublin (eire bus) though 2.5 hour journey

i would suggest you drive cause the public transport system is... well shocking.

so yea the north is significantly cheaper than the south and the north coast has some of the nicest beaches.
dublin has the craic all day everyday.
donegal is complete guff imo really dull little area don't bother.
everyone seems to like letterkenny, i havn't been in a long time.
sligo isn't very good.
a lot of people like rathlin island although there isn't much there, 3 lighthouses, a bird sanctuary and a pub

looking at your profile i see you're 19 so i'm guessing clubs and pubs you're after aswell?

I really recommend the uncyclopedia on derry what ever you do! good guide to what people may or may not be talking about either way :D

We went to the south a year or two ago to a place called Mullingar. Was a nice place and very relaxed with good scenery and villages etc.
We also have a german student who regularly comes to stay with us and then goes and walks the coast from Portrush and ends up on Raithlin island. She loves every minute of it and camps along the route.
i'll echo the comments about the night life in the Ports and Derry - Don't bother!

Just been on Uncyclopedia lol thats briliant, esspecialy the speak likea Derry person lol

Infact try your town, it says some funny stuff about mines Glenrothes

Glenrothes:
it's mainly famous for the number of roundabouts placed on it's roads. Glenrothes is entirely navigable in a car without dropping below 30mph. In fact, the local council recommends that visitors don't drop below 10mph whilst travelling through the town as the local ned population is evolving methods of abusing slow moving traffic ever since the OAPs in the town were given compulsory Ju-Jitsu training as a method of tackling ned buckfast attacks whilst riding their mobility scooters.

Went to Belfast for a mate's 30th, had a bloody excellent time, drinks were pricey but nothing like in the South. Really friendly city with quite a buzz to it.
