ok here's the idea lol,

i am stopping smoking as of 30/06/2009 took me 3months to pluck up the courage and stop,i have me inhaler thingy and me gum but i need someting else to do whilst on a work break for 2hrs 30mins or so.

i dont want a debate(remember stress makes me smoke lol)

psp or that new ds lite thingy

graphics and all are my thing love 1st person shooters but i would give something new ago if it was stunning. i know the graphics are good on psp, well they where about 2yrs ago when i had a look, dont know about that ds thingy,i do own a ps3 so whether it would be good getting the psp i dont know i let you lot decided i will be getting it from my local game store or unless you know of a better place prefer a bundle pack or something so fire away cheers

The DS isn't as strong graphically but I think it has the stronger games library overall, there're a few FPS's on the DS, like Metroid Prime Hunters - personally I find FPS's a bit awkward on consoles (let alone handhelds! :(), but there're lots of good platformers and RPG's for the DS (which I think are better suited for handhelds).

PSP has the strongest line up of software for any hand held for the next 12 months IMO, with games such like
Final Fantasy Dissidia
Persona
Disgia
New Hot shots golf
LBP
GT PSP
MGS peace walker ( the real MGS5)
Motorstorm
Pixel Junk Monsters
GTA China wars
New Jakk and Daxter
To name a few from memory

Coming in the next year it seems pretty strong and if reports of an "app Store" coming to the PSP later this year, looks like its got its strongest software line up ever.

hmmm im starting to sway back to psp again those games are looking good motorstorm is a fav of mine and of course golf arghhh what to buy is hard lol

Used to have PSP and sold it after 2 months as couldn't get in to it. Bought DSi couple of weeks ago and loving it. It's different and seems so much fun especially when you have to do the task with styli and the touch screen :D Get GTA:Chinatown Wars (so good and you get addicted to it :D), Professor Layton (really good puzzle games), Final Fantasy and New mario :)

Good luck i'm sure you can manage :) I stopped nearly a year now and managed to save around £80/month since i stopped :)

I love the PSP, I've had 3 over the past few years, there are plenty of games out there for all tastes and you can even download them straight to your PSP from the store.

Graphics are definitely better on the PSP and stronger for FPS.

whats the psp 3000 all about is that a better model or something

Do your own research. Use google.

Best advice anyone can give you.

What to look for when searching google

The games on the system
The features on the system
Battery life
Peripherals the system needs/uses
Online features
Future games
What system model to buy (DSlite or DSi?, PSP thin or wait for PSP GO?)
Price of games
Price of the system
Price of the Peripherals

Theres a bunch of things you need to know before buying. If you can't make up your mind, flip a coin.

errmmm i know google lol sometimes in life its better to ask a person than a review as most are biased and i used to have a psp when they first came out,i liked it but was wondering if the dsi was better but upon looking at the games i see coming maybe i go back to psp

anyone got the final fastasy game crisis core thats one stunning game

Well, Id rather go with the reviews as ocuk console forum is about as lopped as advice is between 2 consoles/handhelds.

I love my DSi, the graphics are not as strong and their are not as many shooters apart from metroid and moon which is coming soon. PSP if I recall has quite a few shooters and more action games, DS has more puzzle, adventure, mini type games however I've always prefered the DS (mainly for First party titles).

I'm more than biased towards to DS though as I'm a lifelong Nintendo fanboy.

If you know anyone personally who has them give them a try, no doubt they will show you the best games and you can get a feel for them.

think i nip to game tommorow but i think i be going for psp seen a few games i like the look of god of war looks good and final fantasty

I'd also pick up Burnout, probably one of the best psp games that can be had pretty cheap if you go for a PSP. Dont bother with metal gear though if you are looking at it, biggest dissapointment ever.

No offense, but you should try and proofread every now and again.

Acid or portable?

I found acid to be more enjoyable. Never cared for portable much. Peace Walker looks very promising though.
