Thank god I couldn't stand the ghosting on the PSP 1000 screens. The only down side to the 3000 screen is I see interlacing when going threw the PSPs menu options. I still get pain in my hands if I play on it to long.

Why didn't you wait for the blue 3000?
does ghosting happen on all 1006 or am i a lucky you?

I bought a preowned Mystic Silver one for £105. It didn't seem worth paying £140 for one when I only wanted it for Phantasy Star Portable. The cool thing is the last owner did not register it so I registered it as new from when I bought it. :D

As for PSP 1000s

I bought one of the first batch PSP 1000s possibly later 1000 models used better screens. Or PSP 1000s manufacture in certain counties used better screens. I sold my old one because the screen cracked after only dropping it once. I was shocked how fragile it was. I could throw my DS Lite out of my flat window and I'm sure it would still work. :) I won't be testing that out though. lol

All well known information .

But now it's the first time I've told you. :p

I'm gonna buy a PSP shortly but can't decide whether to go for a 2000 or pay a bit extra for the 3000.

Is the 3000 worth the exrta cash?

Even thought the screen on the 3000 is suppose to be better I hear the screen in the 2000 model displays richer colours. Apart from that the 3000 has a built in Mic.

After buying a 3000 myself I'd say I may have been wiser saving some money and getting a 2000 model.

Phantasy star portable any good? Dunno if I'll buy though as I don't really like playing handhelds for more than 5 mins.

Yeah it's decent the down side is you can only play multiplayer if your in range of a friend with the same game. You can have up to four player multiplayer like PSU. I wish it was online though like PSU.

hm good thread, im torn between a 3000 and a 2000... can get a 2000 for £99 nut a 3000 for £125 inc a free game AND an accessory pack...and its red..

what i dont want is to get a 3000 and find out the 2000 had better battery, or screen or something?

Are the 1000s and 2000s still underclocked to 222mhz? I think the 3000s are running at 333mhz but I'm not sure. I'll see what others say. I think they underclocked them so the battery would last longer than ten minutes. :D Thats what I love about my DS lite dim the screen light right down and I can something like fifteen hour of play each charge.

im thinking bout picking up a 3000 in blue on friday.... ive got resi, mgs and ff7 on my ps3 to put on to it which is very very appealing.

hmmm decisions decisions, i feel torn now since people have mentioned the 2000 having richer colours :(

Can I put a Ps1 game in my PS3 and remote play it on my PSP or do I have to have downloaded PS1 games? I have Final Fantasy Origins and I'd love to play it on my PSP.

I picked up a 3000 a few days ago, and i'm glad i went for it over the 2000.

I asked to try both in the shop before i bought them, and the 3000 had a noticeably better screen, barely any ghosting or much interlacing at all and brilliant colours. In fact I was slightly shocked at how bad the ghosting was on the 2000 :o.

If you're still unsure, ask to have a try of both before you make your decision.

I found the colours to be richer on the 3000 than the 2000, other than that the only differences are the built in microphone and the edges are slightly more curved so it's slightly nicer to hold I find, oh and also it supposedly has an anti-glare coating so you can see the screen better in bright light.

The only annoyance I have with mine is that theres a tiny spec of dust underneath/inside the screen that I can't get rid of :(.

Oh, and make sure you get a screen protector, the screens scratch very easily!

Edit: Spaced it out a bit, wall of text not nice to read. :)

There's a far greater reason to have a 2000 over the 3000, but that's another matter... :p

I think that has been over-come just recently.

My PSP and DS are just toys to me. I hardly use them and when I do it isn't for long. The fact that I wouldn't get much more than about £60 for either is the reason I still have them. Not realy fussed which version I have
