Can Xbox 360 H-DVD Drive be used as standard USB external CD/DVD drive on PC?

As need an external cd/ dvd drive to install SP on a netbook.... and these drives can be picked up pretty cheap. (I know you can install via flash drive.... but this option would be easier for me.)

I used one on my netbook (Lenovo S10e) to install the windows 7 beta.

I use mine to install software on my Acer Aspire One netbook.

WatchTower, did you use it to install XP by any chance?

Ie. the Aspire detected it fine for the install?

(Yep, the Aspire A150 is due to arrive tomorrow but with Linux on, and wish to put Xp onto it.)
