car ideas

We do have a sense of humor but you made an identical thread a few days ago...

You've been given a lot of advice and you seemed to have ignored it and bought the worst possible car out of all your other options.

i'd hardly call buying a ford focus not listening. from the suggestions made i ruled out vauxhalls, nissans, skodas, volvos and bmws. recommended were fords, ideally the focus but failing that a mondeo and the 3rd choice would be fiesta. but then i don't listen, i just post inane drivel like the rest of ya lol. :p :rolleyes::D:D:D

Cut the front of the car off, and then rig up a donkey to tow the remaining shell, like a chariot, this will provide you with more refinement and power than the original 1.4 litre engine :D ....even cheaper to run too I should think. And you will get noticed in this car too!

incredibly tempting. would the horse draw more of a crowd with a dress on? might help me pull as i'll be getting in touch with my feminine side. lol:cool::eek::D

I don't think ANYONE on here would have recommended a 1.4 CL, EVER.

We did recommend a Focus, specifically a 1.6 because the 1.4 is gutless and you have a case spec car. For a couple of hundred quid more you could have had a 1.6 Zetec with a few more toys. Had you of asked you would have known this.

Some people like slow cars. I know when looking for a car for my mum she specifically said it had to be as slow as possible. She was recently insured on a 4.8l Mustang which cost her about £400 iirc and he current insurance is £180 so that's not the reason. She just drives 5 miles to work, 5 miles to town for shopping and 10 miles home all on 30/40 roads and really didn't want to pay a penny extra for any extra power. She ended up getting a 90bhp 1.4 Bravo (which is the roughly the same weight and size as a Focus) and she thinks it's mentally fast (compaing to her last car - Rover214 ).

Personally I wouldn't do anything to a 1.4 Focus, you got it to get you too and from work so why bother lowering, adding alloys or messing around with the engine. Just leave it and enjoy it as an A to B tool. Plus you'll look like a nonce with a pimped 1.4 Focus.

my last car was an m reg 1.8 diesel non turbo escort so a 1.4 should be poky in comparison. i have the bonus of not even remembering much about how the car drove so i can't even compare it lol.

i'm not going to touch it, just wondered what the joys of motors could suggest lol.

That's quite odd, given the Rover's weight AND power advantage!

It wasn't the 'newer shape' 200 series, the older box like thing, on an M reg. Probs had something to do with the gearing, which having driven the Rover was shocking. Plus considering it was 15~ years old it must have lost a fair bit of powah.
