If Sega made a new console would you buy it?

It's very unlikely to happen which is a crying shame but some of my fondest gaming memories was during the time I owned a Dreamcast. I remember getting a £500 + phone bill one month for living on Phantasy Star Online. The bill was nasty but I gained the best gaming memories of my life with my Dreamcast and that game.

I know I would buy it even if the console being a success was slim because nothing can beat having one console where every Sega arcade game gets ported to. Now I have to buy every console this generation to get such a luxury and Dam it! it's expensive. :(

Segas heart hasn't seem to be in many of there games since they stop producing hardware. As you'll have noticed with all the games rubbishing Sonic's name.

I wouldn't buy it ... but I still have a sega megadrive somewhere so tempted to hook it up and play all the games I played as a child.

Only games I remember or the dreamcase was virtual tennis (I think) and crazy taxi, but great games non the less.

They are bringing out another handheld soon IIRC. Wouldn't mind grabbing that for the on-the-road lawls. I want a re-make of the Sega Saturn.. I loved that console.

If this console was within reasonable hardware specifications and Sega supporting it 100% by releasing lots of quality first-party games (Year 2000 and the Dreamcast, one of the best years!), then I will buy it with no hesitation. Even if this console is deemed to fail, I would still buy it as I am a die-hard Sega fan at heart. The MegaDrive afterall was my first console when I was like 5 years old and the Dreamcast will still remain a classic and truely an underrated innovator.

I've always been a Nintendo fan, right from the NES, but provided the support for the console was up to scratch then I'd definitely get it.

The Dreamcast really was ridiculously advanced for its time. As someone on Reddit said, "It didn't fail us - we failed it".

Holy moley!

£500 back in those days was a lot of money!

Im such a big sucker for games and consoles I probably would. A shenmue sequel would seal it.

No. Dumbest thing Sega could do is to get back into the console game. They aren't even doing that great with their software.

All we need is Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo. Sega wouldn't stand a chance in todays market.

How? What could they possibly bring to the table that MS,Sony and Nintendo aren't already doing? The market is already satisfied. We don't need another console.

That pretty much sums it up tbh, and even if there was a new console, with 360's, wii's, ps3's and pc's would it even sell? Just seems like too much of a gamble for them :/
