I LOVE the CPU however the Stock fan is ****ola.

Well, one of the cores is currently getting to 73 degrees and I am starting to get restarts which isnt too good.

Soo, what do you guys recommend please?

Also need a couple of case fans too please - 2 x 80MM

The quieter the better.

My mate had my old Arctic Freezer 64 off me for his AM3 720 rig and it keeps it pretty damn cool. Its not the most powerful coolers about but its cheap and does the job. Not sure on what temps hes getting but pretty sure its about 25 at idle, 40 at load (overclocked) maybe wrong thou! Its a lot less than 73 I know that :D

For sheer cooling power, titan fenrir would be my recomendation

Please help peeps.. need to order before 16.30....

My PC will blow with anymore heat like this.

Not a fan of the Arctic Coolers, I find the build quality a little on the cheap side but you get what you pay for.

AM2 and AM3 are physically the same socket...only diff is the memory controller on the CPU...so yes it will fit..provided your mobo doesnt have insane heatsinks popping up everywhere.

As far as i knew its only memory modules with tall heat speaders that have issues, but may be wrong. I only know a little as im looking at getting an AM3 system myself, so someone with one with a fenrir is ideal really.

Looks like as long as you don't have OCZ Reapers/Corsair Dominators/Patriot Vipers...other other modules with crazy high sinks then it shouldn'tbe an issue.

Well, I am hoping the new case fans will help get me through the summer then when I replace my case in the Autumn, will get the Titan then to save having to remove the board now :)

am3 coolers

Have just replaced my artic freezer 64 pro for a zalman 9700 led and is very impressive also you don't have to remove mobo to fit.I'm still on socket 939 but cooler fits am2/3.:D

Don't bother with the titan fenrir - it's excellent as a cooling solution, but will be more than you need and louder as a consequence.

Scythe Ninja II/Mugan, Noctua or TRUE with a nice low speed fan will keep it plenty cool enough with minimum noise levels.

My 720BE hits 40c load in winter, 45 in summer (about 20c above ambient) and idles at about 2/3c above ambient - well within the limits of the CPU - and that's while overclocked to 3.6gHz with a corresponding over-voltage to 1.5v (my chip isn't a particularly good overclocker). At stock it barely hits 35 load even with the current weather.

I have a very similar rig to you and own the Ninja 2. It is a brilliant cooler. According to speedfan I am idling at 33'C which is excellent. Any cooler will be good really, you just need to be careful with the heatpipes. I believe the ones on the Tuniq Tower are fairly long and therefore make sure it is clear from the memory modules.

Back when it snowed big down south here it was idling in the low 20's :D
