been doing a bit of reading about it today seems a lot involed for a beginner would this kit be ok for me or does someone have a better spec.;)

i dont mind building anything or put together bits n bobs longs i have everything and info on where it goes ect

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-035-SW

unless someone has a better idea, allways wanted to build one but never had time to,now with quitting smoking and have more money to play with i thought i might as well give it a go,my specs are in my sig below

my aim to get it quiter and cooler than i have now 45c idle 90+full load, what would be the expected temps and would it be quiter as well? so your thoughts would be good to what would be the best option and performance maybe gt a few more ghz out of it as well.

Hi rick, Its a cracking little piece of kit. You will see much better load temps. I have the same kit but with just the CPU block.

Obv, you could do better picking the parts yourself, but as a kit its great.!

Personally I would buy separates.
Koolance parts with the xspc dual pump res and 1 or 2 pumps. depending what you want in the loop.

What case do you have?

Definitely. Whilst the Swiftech kit is great, it's very expensive and all you really get for the extra is an instruction sheet.

lol thats what i need instructions!!

spec me a setup then im sure a few on here would help me out in building it of course i do my homework and read what else i got to do in my spare time of not smoking:D

also if its cheaper then go for it thats even better

if it can be done for less than 250 then spec me a shopping list,i believe my case is ideal for water cooling, let me know what you come up with cheers

Laing ddc 18W with xspc reservoir top
Ek blocks on anything you want them on
Radiators, the bigger/more the better. Pretty much wherever you can fit them. If low noise, look at thermochill/feser/other really thick ones. if you dont care about noise, the cheaper ones perform almost as well. It'll be easier if you mount them externally, I'm not familiar with your case so cant advise on internal mounting.

Beyond that, pick a tube size and use it throughout, get barbs/compression fittings which match up with it. Used distilled water of the type you put in your car, with something antialgae if you wish

This one?

Doesn't look so ideal, where do you put radiators? A 240 in the roof at the back I think, but not sure where else
Maybe a 360 instead, looks like the case will be fine. Thats good news

sorry could someone do a shopping list so i can see whats what cheers prefer quite system if possiable, regarding the case the rad goes up top from what rich told me

Feser 240, or 360 if it will fit. Yate loon or scythe s flex fans.

You really should pick the pieces yourself though, the above is just what i settled on after a fair bit of research

i understand what your saying john but i anit gota clue what to buy whats best ect at minute hence why i asked about the kit as it has all the bits i needed, but pricey i know but if i have to choose my own bits then i go for that other wise i get all the wrong stuff and that would be a nightmare lol

Water cooling doesnt evolve all that quickly really. Occasionally something amazing like the laing ddc is released, and that pump is highly recommended (by me). Beyond that, you need a block on whatever hardware you have and want to cool.

Ek supreme lt and ek full cover 285 block would be very good. If you want to go all the way, you can put a block on the northbridge and both mosfets on your board. Can ahve the entire set matching with EK written on it, which is nice. With considerable effort and price and negligible return you can watercool the hard drives and ram if you see fit. The more blocks you buy, the more they cost though.

I would recommend a laing 18W with xspc top, a feser 240 radiator, though a 360 would be better I'm struggling to find out if you need to cut holes in the top of the case to mount it or not. EK supreme lt or ek supreme cpu block with appropriate backplate for the processor, and ideally one for the graphics card as well. If I can track down the cable I need Ill upload a photo of what Ive done at the moment as an example.

You can get a blocks for your board for about 80 quid. Id personally very much want to do this, but its far less important than the cpu and gpu, and probably unwise if youre only using one pump ('a single loop').

Just dont buy aluminium things :)

think i just want cpu watercooled with a bit of bling lighting ect hehe.longs its quite and cooler i be happy,or would i need gpu doing as well,if you dont mind doing me a list and cost thats a starting point

You can price them yourself. A fair few things overclockers dont have in stock, and I can't link to competitors.

Cpu only is a good start, but it's not going to be quiet as long as you have a 285 spinning away.

Approx, from memory
pump + res 70 quid
feser 240 around 60
ek supreme 40
ek full cover block 65
chipset blocks if wanted 80
tubing negligible
fittings budget 20 quid or so I guess

Bling lighting I will leave to someone else, I don't light my computers. ive tried some photos of mine with minimal success, it looks a complete mess. Ill see if I can manage something useful later, but in the meantime the watercooled gallery has many better examples

o what the hell might just do the whole hog then cpu and gpu if it will make it quite, just i have this tiny problem being a new to it(dont worry im reading up on it all)what bits do i need for my setup shopping time if anyone wants to do one it would help me out, choosing it all myself is a bit daunting really as i really wanna get the best i can get for the price.

Theres a few places to save money, and a few where you shouldn't try to. Much like a computer I suppose. The 18W ddc is expensive but I think entirely worth it. On the other hand, compression fittings cost significantly more than barbs and don't offer much more.

You can get full cover gfx blocks, or ones which cover the core only with heatsinks on the ram. Full cover is better, but not by very much, and costs a fair bit more. The core only ones tend to fit multiple cards, the full cover ones not so much. So a core only is the way to go for bang/buck. The ek supreme lt (note the lt) is cheap and very good.

7/16" inner diamater tubing over 1/2" barbs is probably the favorite. Tygon is the best tubing, and I think is probably worth it. Distilled water is superior to feser 1 and costs 10% the price per litre. I'd like a silver kill coil but haven't bought one yet. pt nuke is also good. If you light up your case with UV, anti microbe things are a lot more important.

Radiators are harder. They tend to come in 30mm or 60mm thickness, and Ive only used the thicker ones so can't really comment. If you're limited for room in your case Id get the thick one, as it'll cool better than a 30mm one.

Second hand is very good for this, and you have access to MM so are onto a winner there. Two of my three radiators, my 8800gt waterblock and my ek supreme are second hand. The pump is new, as I fear pump failure and want to know it hasn't been previously abused. Tubing I bought new, along with compression fittings, but this is because I chose to use 11/8mm this is a rare choice here.

Blocks + pump + radiator + reservoir or t line + tubing to join things together is about it really.

This, a feser or a thermochill will significantly outperform it. If you're only going to use one radiator and one loop it would be better to get the thick radiator. I'm pretty certain the thick ones will fit in your case, but haven't checked the dimensions.

Everything is out of stock because a lot of these companies are very small. Few employees, probably quite narrow profit margins. They make them as fast as they can I suspect, but it does mean stock comes and goes. Had a look second hand? Even without checking I'm sure there are some very good things in members market.

You might be fine with the thin one, depends how you feel about noise and temperature. I'm running the rough equivalent of a feser 360 and expect it to be overspecced for a quad core and couple of low power graphics cards. A radiator that's better than you need means you can keep it for years and run the fans on it slow, or overclock higher. Good second hand components will be better than cheap new ones and about the same price.

I love it when someone is coming into watercooling for the first time. Reminds me of when I first started :D

Mate, if you click on the link in my sig you will see what I did to get my stuff watercooled...I am due to watercool my GPU this weekend so I really cannot wait :D
