It's the girlfriends birthday soon but we've been to pretty much 90% of all restaurants around the city centre. So, I fancied taking her somewhere different, maybe in the west end or so? Or, even a nice place we've perhaps not been to around the city? Budget would be around £60 for entire meal. Yes, I'm skint at present! :)

edit: Oh, just general Scottish or Italian food would be nice. No Chinese etc.

Ubiquitous Chip is nice, although I'm not sure how far £60 would get you, you'd probably be ok though. A bit cheaper and most of the Italians around the west end are ok...

Oran Mor? - Not sure about prices etc here

Completely forgot about this thread until today. As the birthday is getting closer I'd really like to find a nice restaurant.

Thanks Richy, Ubiquitous Chip looks nice but it seems awfully bright and not very romantic? I'm after something a little darker with a more romantic setting.

We've been to almost every restaurant in Princes Square so that's out the question slightly.

Anymore opinions? :)

Thanks chaps. The Red Onion looks pretty decent.

I can now up the budget if possible so that's not an issue.

We went to Gusto in Edinburgh not so long ago and both loved the decor and styling. Anything as classy in Glasgow? City centre or not. Trying to steer clear from the traditional Scottish decor.
