No way!

crap thread, but after a week of been deaf I got my ears syringed just now and holy jesus god and all the atoms in the universe hearing is great... The amount of wax that came out was sick and it was years of build up apparently, Ive never been able to hear so well.. the rustle of the trees, birds singing.... I'm going to enjoy some music now seen as I havent been able to happily listen to any all week...

AMAZING.

Yeh

You may have to use ear drops for a week, but no one here or I can't say anything, your best just going to your gp in the first place so they can say what you should do.

I just had to use drops for a few days before hand and bingo, my life is class again.

Except I can really hear it when I type now and it's annoying me

They say my right ear has no wax in and ear drops didnt help. The thing is when my right ear pops when u hold ur nose method it opens nice and i can hear a lot better but if i breath in it closes up again. Wonder what it can be if its not wax.

I have this done every time I plan to go on a Scuba trip as I have great difficulty without a good old clear out, and it truly is an amazing contrast when you finally have unobstructed hearing.

You can buy little hand pumps that are like oversized pipettes which is what I tend to use after swimming and so on for general day to day stuff.

Been meaning to get this done for years...this thread might tip me over the edge, think I'll pop down to see the doc next week. My ears tend to feel literally heavy!

There's something quite amazing about the supersonic hearing you get after you've had this done! Mine block up really easily so I go and get this done quite regularly. I don't like the new machine they have though, I preferred the old syringe and busty nurse in a tight top method

You might have Eustachian Tube Dysfunction, do you suffer with allergies or anything like that. Google it and see if that sounds like your problem and get down the Docs., I suspect thats what it is.

Isn't the ear candle thing a myth?

I've read mixed things about it and I doubt the gp's suggest it.

The machine is what i got, it wasn't a syringed, just a thin pipe spraying warm water into my ear...

but the mess that falls out... eugh

I had them when i was proper young...

Not sure what they were for to be honest. Never had any issues with my ears since, except wax today, but thats the first time ive had them properly cleaned out so it's not like i suffer a lot from wax build up...

I can't even remember them grommits falling out.. I'm assuming they have

I'm wondering if I need it doing now, I'm sure I can hear OK, I don't have the TV as loud as my parents, but apparently one of the symptoms is saying "pardon" or "what" frequently and I say what allot when someone says something to me.
