I Have To Vent My Virgin Media Anger

Right!!! Now were getting somewhere!

The engineer has been out again this morning. (Paul the helpful one), we sat down and ran some tests on his Virgin media equipment (laptop) and he now has enough evidence and proof to go back to the network techies and confirm to them that it is NOT my computer thats the problem.

Could this guy be the saviour of Virgin Media!! He is going to do his other jobs he's got planned for today and see who else is around this afternoon to join him on his return here later today.

Let's see what happens!

You must make a good cuppa ;)

You do know people use high speed broadband for things other than Warez, don't you?

Should have got Be/O2 Pro :p

So he should go from 50mb (and once his issues are fixed it will be 50mb - Virgin Media's cable speeds are nearly always what they say on the tin) to a possible 24mb? Doesn't sound like a deal to me! :p

Breaking the trend here but i wouldn't go anywhere else other than Virgin. Never had any problems

Same here. I've been with NTL and now VM for years with a brief flit with xDSL and the DSl was god damn awful. Thankfully I know get 19.5mb without fail unless I trip the throttling and that doesn't happen often. To quote Apple - "It just works" and has done for years...

Ask for the recorded phonecall between you and the sales guy where he agreed the price for your new broadand.

I've been with Telewest/Blueyonder/Virgin for a good 15 years since back in the day of Surf Unlimited 56k Dialup! I remember the day I had 512k "Broadband" fitted and seeing a blistering 60KBp/s!

This is the only time I have ever had issue with the service. When I was on 20meg I would often see a solid 2.2/2.3Mbp/s downspeeds.

He mentioned that he upgraded for upload, those products will go up to 2.5Mb upstream.

I've called them three times in the past five years, once for my BB and the other two for my V+ box and one of them was just the other day. On both occasions I've had no problems and they sent out an engineer within days.

Conversely, when I deal with ADSL problems for clients, trying to establish the root and ownership of a problem can be a nightmare. The provider blame BT and BT blame the provider. BT engineer are very reluctant to send out an engineer unless you've passed through at least 3 levels of support, and even then you pay. One chap I was dealing with had no internet for 3 months. It turned out the BT hadn't updated their records of a recent change made by the customer and cut him off, but it took hours worth of telephone calls and visits to establish this. I talked him into going virgin.

Speaking of which, i have only one recorded customer with a cable internet problem in the past 2 years.

ditto..
