You have to flick the switches in the right order to trigger BOTH boulders otherwise later in the game they aren't filling in 2 x gaps for your characters to walk through. I think you also have to to open up a trapdoor on one screen too.
As mentioned, the Magic Latern is the key to another mavity GF. I fight it as SOON as I get the lamp, because I want to get him learning stuff like Mug and Darkside. Spend most of the fight staying alive rather than drawing.
Ah yes, one thing I like about this game, actually having a wind magic and holy to use!
Is Float actually useful for anything apart from fighting the Brothers with?
The fighting in this game is much more interactive and fun I found, boosting your summons, pulling off Zell's fighting moves, 'doing over' Selphie's limit in the hope of something awesome....
Settings are great, the big set plays too, music is class. FF7 reminded me of Secret Of Mana, where you'd jaunt round the map in a straight line through a desert place, snow place, ancients place etc. FF8 was surprising at every turn.
Oh, don't forget to have a go at the SeeD exams in your menu. Some evil little questions in there for avid FF7 people to catch them out. (like "Do you level abilities with AP?"... you always stick "Yes" in out of FF7 habit).
Can't wait to see more updates and hear what you think of the plot!
