Re-playing FF VIII **Warning - Spoilers**

You have to flick the switches in the right order to trigger BOTH boulders otherwise later in the game they aren't filling in 2 x gaps for your characters to walk through. I think you also have to to open up a trapdoor on one screen too.

As mentioned, the Magic Latern is the key to another mavity GF. I fight it as SOON as I get the lamp, because I want to get him learning stuff like Mug and Darkside. Spend most of the fight staying alive rather than drawing.

Ah yes, one thing I like about this game, actually having a wind magic and holy to use!

Is Float actually useful for anything apart from fighting the Brothers with?

The fighting in this game is much more interactive and fun I found, boosting your summons, pulling off Zell's fighting moves, 'doing over' Selphie's limit in the hope of something awesome....

Settings are great, the big set plays too, music is class. FF7 reminded me of Secret Of Mana, where you'd jaunt round the map in a straight line through a desert place, snow place, ancients place etc. FF8 was surprising at every turn.

Oh, don't forget to have a go at the SeeD exams in your menu. Some evil little questions in there for avid FF7 people to catch them out. (like "Do you level abilities with AP?"... you always stick "Yes" in out of FF7 habit).

Can't wait to see more updates and hear what you think of the plot!

Off to meet Mr NORG now.

That bit there... is the most triumphant conclusion to the most awesome sequence of events that kicks off from Timber onwards. I love it.

A brief breather and then it goes mental again.

Heres a few more, Just crashed into Fishermans Horizon!

That guy again...This time it was extremely easy! Bit silly having to fight it though..when Sephie, Rinoa and Quistis all jump out afterwards..

I am still to this day in love with Rinoa.

In fact for women, Final Fantasy 7 and 8 rock my world. :o

It's all about the long haired brunnette beauty. :D

I tend to be more drawn towards those klutzy ones like Yuffie and especially Selphie, maybe because she is cute and also quite the techie-whiz kid. :p

Thank god for that, now I can admit to this as well. And for me the game was particularly apt as at the time I was a right moody git, just like Squall. TBH I've never identified with any game as much as I did with FF8

Tifa by any chance?

Yes! I also like the **** glasses that the teacher girl wears in VIII. Can't remember her name though. Glasses on an attractive girl really work for me.

Give me anything cute and young looking though and it'll probably work for me as well though.

Quistis. And yeah, I prefer her too.

Dunno why but I could never get into FF8 despite loving FF7 and the similarly 9, also liked 10/12 but for some reason 8 was just missing something.

Having the Ragnarok and spending my time between the Islands and Hell and Heaven was great...so much levelling up...so many draw points....great for getting the higher up cards with the ability as well.

Tho boo to the occasional Ruby Dragon who would back attack and then do that fire breath thing and kill my entire team
