Has anyone else watched this yet?

Video

It's such a shame he has gone, that rehearsal looked amazing! such a shame no-one will ever get to see the tour.

I'm pretty gutted i'm not gonna get to see him :(

The papers have been saying he was full of energy in his rehearsals despite the rumours he was frail and weak

That actually looks fantastic. I was massively skeptical but it looks like he really could've pulled it off. Shame :(

I do hope more footage surfaces.

TBH the rehearsal footage doesnt look that great. Ive seen the 'TDCAU' performances many times and in this one he looked very tired and confused. the bit when the guitaist comes out is embarrassing. He is looking around not sure what to do. Plus the way his hurling his body towards the guitar player isnt so great. Theres a mixture of live vocals and miming as well. Live section is really good. miming is at the end chorus.

I thought rehearsals are there to iron out problems and polish the routine

And for a live show like this you wouldn't concentrate on the singing either. The rehearsal is for getting the choreography right and the singing would be practiced separately. Then on the night you'd bring them together.

This

One big regret is not going to see him back in the 80's :(

80s bad tour was the best ever. Am perplexed as to why its never released. I rememeber reading about it ages ago where they said MJ has all the Master tapes etc. Instead they released the rather poor Dangerous in Bucharest. (poor inall aspects. sound mixing, editing, poor camera angles). Only thing that rescued it for me was the 'man in mirror' at the end

Just google Bad Tour and see how good he was when at his best. 95% of it was sang live as well (only Smooth criminal was mimed i think)

Yes. But this was full dress Rehearsal. Really close to the actual concerts. Plus looking at previous concerts TDCAU is one of the starting songs. He just seems too tired at this point.

people seem to have gone too far on both sides. on the one hand some people said he was on crutches and couldnt walk and on the other hand people said he had energy like a 20 year old. I would say he is more in the middle of those opinions

I also agree with how he looks a bit iffy.
His movement isn't really great, and you can see in his face that it's exhausting him.

Have to say I agree completely, yes it would appear the rumours of his rehearsal performances have been overplayed and seem out of proportion in that video, but it wasn't jacko.

it was jacko by numbers

I don't think it's a question of age, look at the stones they give as much today in a live performance as they ever did in terms of passion and energy. MJ seemed to be lacking in both depts in that video.

yes it may be a rehersal video and therefore not a true indication of what the shows themselves may have held, but it is all we have to go off as sadly we'll never know just how emotive and engaging his shows could have been.

Perhaps his heart wasn't in it, perhaps it was all about the Benjamin's ? I still believe his best work was produced in the late 70's and early 80's although Thriller was his biggest seller for me it was never a patch on Off The Wall.

Apparently the final rehersal, day before he died was recoreded in multi angle HD and multi-track surround sound. I would not be suprised if AEG release it in order to counter the cash they have lost out on.

Your post had so much more finesse.

Caught this on the news this morning. Whilst it gave the impression the guy was still fit enough to do the concerts it wasn't exactly electrifying as the news piece made out.
What. Are you on sedatives? That performance was uplifting to the max for me.

Will I get to 250- before you Earth tera :p

I saw it on the news this morning and with the above link a few times and each time I get the goosebumps, even on the last viewing I did, trying to be hyper critical, looking for Jacko to be "confused-looking around not knowing what to do". Surely in a rehearsal there will be people pointing and directing things to a certain extent, maybe he was looking at them.
*Looking at it again, that is wrong Drizmod, it is a head turn away of attitude before he moves closer to the guitarist.
Maybe the female playing a "Rock" solo made you cringe; it did me.
