Good aluminium radiators

Are there any? I know it seems really counter intuitive, and I'm aware that aluminium is much worse at conducting heat, but I might want the ocz flex ram enough to set up an all aluminium loop for it.

Cheers.

koolance supply alu radiators & gold plated copper blocks for use with alu blocks/rads...
5 years on, my old koolance still working fine, no sign of corrosion to anything.

Zalman reservators are also aluminum with gold / other plated blocks.
Some nice aluminum res's especially by alphacool.
Also have a look at Cape cora and Konvekt-o-Matic passive rads - silent alu loops are easy if you have the budget.

The german watercooling companies all use alu well.

This is quite good news. I cant fund nor find space for the passive coolers sadly. Thank you.

Plan would be aluminium blocks on mosfets, nothbridge, southbridge, ram running through a 120 koolance radiator. Is that viable as a basic outline?

I knew dual loops would get me in the end :(

Just out of curiousity...may the barb size of the ram not cause a problem in the loop you're suggesting?

I've often wondered how people would integrate this ram into a loop. No doubt I'm missing something quite simple and obvious though.

Yeah, they've used ridiculous barbs. Kind of justified in terms of fitting enough modules next to each other. Not a very intelligent design though really. The barbs are removable and I've asked what the threads are, worst case scario I can probably make adapters. I don't think compression fittings will be available in the right thread size.

I think the general theme is you connect them in parallel, but can't seem to find a suitable manifold

Not pleased that they used aluminium for it.

Yeah. I thought about watercooling the ram although just found too many potential problems with trying to integrate it into the loop due to barb size and the restriction it must cause.

I have to say the Koolance ram blocks seem a bit more accessible in terms of easy integration. Not cheap however, once all the connectors and nozzles are added up. Again, found the MIPS one a bit too pricey as well, although that is copper I believe.

The flex ram does look pretty appealing though. Be sure to post some pics if you go for it. ;)

The mips site is killing me, I'll have to find someone who speaks German. The ram freezer 6 is for x58 chipsets as far as I can tell, the freezer 5 might be too. Most exciting though, is the "MIPS RAM Freezer 6 'Corsair Edition". It screws directly into the top of corsair dominator ram, using the threads that are apparently already there. This means watercooling the ram without removing the heat spreaders, so the warranty remains. And its relatively low flow resistant, and copper.

It also means moving to corsair, which sucks for brand loyalty, but also means rejecting the cheaper ocz because they use aluminium. Could be worse.

It's official...I now hate you. :p

I hadn't checked the site in ages and had given up on cooling the ram due to the horror stories about removing the Dominator heatspreaders.

I'm now going to have to check the bank balance when I replace my CPU block as well. Good find. ;)

Edit: Wish I had an X58 board. The price of that Corsair Edition ram freezer is very cheap compared to the rest of the range. I was expecting it to be more than £40 anyway.

Removing the heatspreaders doesnt seem to be a winner, but mounting the block where corsair's own pelt goes? Genius. No warranty void :)

My bank balance wont cope with the abuse an x58 system would put on it, perhaps by the end of the summer. Until then, I'll stick with the reapers I'm using now. The block is cheap at least, rather easier to manufacture when corsair provide the heatspreaders. Such a tidy solution.

Reinstkupfer translate to copper, or to pure copper, or to something else?
