Best ever Pokemon game?

So with the recent release of Platinum I've went back to my schoolboy roots and have started playing Leaf Green.

Despite their image, they are very good games and Red/Blue/Yellow accounted for many hours as a young gamer trading on the playground.

So, which was your favourite, and are you still playing them?

Red/Blue. I hated the others as they felt soul-less and needed a stupid number of game versions to "catch them all."

I don't play them any more though.

Gold & Silver for me since it let you finish the game and then it gave you the option to go back to the previous region and let you challenge the gyms from the previous games all over again.

but they're all excellent, i did consider getting a DS and one of the new games, but i can't afford it

There's a war going on inside my head at this very moment over wether to go for a PSP or DS. DS would only be for Pokemon and Mario games though. PSP would be the smart choice.

there are only 2 reasons to buy a PSP, FF7 and FF7: crisis core

I will never forget playing Red and getting every single pokemon in it. I could probably play it again as well if the DSi store releases it!!!

so aye, Red/Blue are the best, I cant really get into the latest ones.
