2km from exchange, is ~10Mbps a reasonable sync speed?

Had O2 Premium broadband installed for the past month or so, for potential speeds of up to 20Mbps, although the O2 website at first claimed our maximum sync speed was 13Mbps - I also understand you are not guaranteed to get 20Mbps (it's anything up to), but I've never seen it go over 9.7Mbps or so, this is on a newly-activated line where we are about 1.9-2km from the local BT exchange.

Here are the current connection stats from our O2 (Thomson) box. No idea why the uptime is only 2 and half hours tho, it was up for a lot longer than that when I was checking it last night:

Code:
DSL Connection

	Link Information

Uptime:	0 days, 2:34:58

DSL Type:	G.992.5 annex A

Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]:	1,282 / 9,330

Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [kB/kB]:	0.00 / 0.00

Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]:	12.0 / 18.5

Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]:	21.5 / 39.5

SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]:	6.5 / 6.5

Vendor ID (Local/Remote):	TMMB / BDCM

Loss of Framing (Local/Remote):	0 / 0

Loss of Signal (Local/Remote):	0 / 0

Loss of Power (Local/Remote):	0 / 0

Loss of Link (Remote):	0

Error Seconds (Local/Remote):	0 / 0

FEC Errors (Up/Down):	6 / 14,691

CRC Errors (Up/Down):	6 / 12

HEC Errors (Up/Down):	4,198 / 7

AFAIK, the line attenuation looks about right for our line's distance, but the rest I'm still not that sure. I've been used to fibre-optic cable connections since broadband first went mainstream, so still new to the ins and outs of this ADSLx technology malark.

No you haven't, it's all copper.

Anyway, those sync speeds look fine, and 10Mb at that distance is more than reasonable. You can call O2 and get them to drop your noise margin down to 3dB and see what it does for stability/speed.

I'll let someone else comment on the FEC errors because I know nothing about that.

I get 10101 sync with a 45dB line, so I would say your about right, but im on the 3dB profile though.

Sync speed looks fine to me based on your attenuation. As pointed out ignore the FEC errors, as long as your connection is stable then just enjoy.

My attenuation is about the same, I also get 10mb, so I would say it is correct.

If you have another modem you might want to try that.. My Be Box connected about 1mb less than my Netgear modem. Also you might want to try 3db profile (not sure if you can set this on o2), that should increase it slightly.
