Makes no odds really, the head of MI6, and MI5 and most other government agencies have always been publically known, who gives two hoots about his holiday photos, everything else is publically available and always has been.

Also do you really think if a terrorist wanted to know some of that stuff they couldnt find it out, seriously, facebook might make it easier but its hardly national security!

I have to laugh at how ironic it is that the BBC are going on about her posting the pictures etc when they keep showing them all again every 30minutes.

Its like: "OMG THIS IS SHOCKING, IT'S A BREACH OF SECURITY BLAH BLAH BLAH. And here's some pictures for everyone to see!"

The thing is that this guy has been our Ambassador to the UN and has been a public figure for many years. I very much doubt there was anything on facebook that some nefarious types couldn't find elsewere.

Agreed, slow news day. I thought David Miliband was spot on for the way he told Andrew Marr and the BBC how pathetic he thought it was that they should bring it up on the show, he really did put them in their place.

There was an article in the Times yesterday ragarding the amount of important intelligence being inadvertently revealed on Facebook by soldiers. the MOD have now made a DVD to help train and inform soldiers about the dangers of posting seemingly mundane information on facebook. I think its scary how much some people are willing to post up on social networking sites without any consideration for consequences, and are then suprised when potential employers etc see it. If it's on the internet, then it expect the rest of the world to be able to see it!
