what does b grade mean in the clearance section

Not 100% complete or perfect. It might not have the original box, or might be lacking some leads, manual or might have a minor cosmetic flaw such as a scratch. It should however be in working order if its a component.

ok thanks thats what i thought .
i was thinking of getting a monitor but if theres a chance it has a dead pixel no thanks i'd rather buy new.

It might actually be in perfect order, just a little dusty from being on display or perhaps doesn't have the manual / driver disk.

Means you order it, wait a week, email to find out why it didnt turn up, only to be told it was "lost" at the "printed and awaiting shipping" stage.

You can't have a 100% success rate with orders. It's just not possible. Also, i have some  , since you seem to like them.

All monitors have a chance of having dead pixels, even brand new ones.

Which is why I always buy 2nd hand tv's and monitors. Unless I can get a shop to guarantee to replace it before I buy if there's any dead pixels. Or get a display or tested one.

Just becuase you buy a new monitor and it has a dead pixel doesnt mean the company you bought it for will give you a replacement...Not sure on OcUK's pixel policy though.

Last time I emailed them, they didn't have any policy. But that was several years ago. Most companies are around 5 pixels.

What hes saying is that its fairly obvious that a lot of B Grade items are either never actually in stock, picked up by the ocuk staff first and not removed from the web site, or just vanish without trace ( if you go by the posts on the forums about b grade stuff ).

If its a good item thats a real bargain chances are its already gone, but no one seems to update the website to show it. IMHO they need a person whos job it is to update the B-Grade stuff on an hourly basis. It would take 2 mins and cut down on all the problems sorting out refunds on orders that cant be met. This alone would easily cost more time and resources than simply having somone spend a few mins each hour or two to update the list. It surely cant be that hard to have a system in place to keep the b-grade list up to date by the hour.

If i remember right, dont dell have a unique policy in that you can get a replacement for any reason, but only within the first 60 days or something? Which is one of the reasons i will go for dell if i ever upgrade from my old CRT.

If i bought a new monitor with 5 dead pixels i would probably kick it about a bit, say it got damaged in post and get another, hopefully with none dead.

5 dead right in the middle would annoy me a lot

My GTX280 was b-grade (and an absolute bargain - £210 half a year ago), and it was in perfect condition. All accessories were still sealed, driver CD was still sealed, the card didn't have a single fingerprint on it.

Have to say I was a happy man :)
