here is some great information for you all.

I have had XFX and Powercooler and they arent a patch on these Asus cards.

Also did any of you guys know that the Asus cards have far far better Fans on them than the other cards.

the other cards max RPMs are 42xxRPM
where as these asus cards are 47xxRPM

they cool better :)
and they use better cores.

Im testing here at 950/1100 on both cards with there default voltages 1.31v
that in my book is bloody fantastic.

also there VRMS are cooler than most cards

i was just playing crysis for 20 minutes with fan set to auto in catylist
and the fan didnt get any higher than 40% with a 67c temp on the GPU

VRM temps where

67c
72c
70c

and that was at 40% fan speed.

the cards idle at 42c with a 40% fanspeed

fantastic or what, im pritty sure 100% that these cards i have are dimonds in the rough LOL
im pritty sure they would hit 1000core pritty much easily as 950core on default voltage 1.31 is pritty awsome to begin with.

Do yourselfs a favor and next time your buying 4890s

get the ASUS VOLTAGE TWEAK VERSIONS. there GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREAT lol :D

One miner problem i have noticed though is 1 of the cards fans is makeing a noise and it i tap it lol it goes away but it comes back
but thats only when the fan is on auto with 30% fan speed you cant hear it its only when the fan speed is at 16% lol

either way pritty much loving these cards.
now i gotta package up these 4 i got that are crud LOL and send back to OCUK for refunds.

Aye, glad you're sorted after the major hassle you had with the other cards. Good to hear you're enjoying the cards also :)

Fan is probably just a bit dodgy. I had some case fans like that, once they hit a certain speed they made noise but if I speeded them up or slowed them down the noise went away. Best to just try to keep it off the speeds that it makes noises at if possible :)

hehe yeah ;D

i think the problem with that fan is that the wire is slightly touching the fan shroud and when i speed it up it goes away hehe :D

nothing majar i would have guessed ect

Also found something else out on the cards that is totaly missing
from the Powercolor and battle forge cards

the red heatsink that goes right along the side of the graphics card

and the FAN is bigger aswell

before the fan on the powercolor was getting blocked by my sound card underneath
but now with this fan there is loads of clearance for air to get in

WOOT :)

Glad you finally got the cards/performance that you wanted.

Im thinking of changing to the asus 4890s, as the 2 gainward gtx260s that i have dont seem to fit in my gigabyte ex58-ud3r for sli:(

Nice to hear you got some good cards, it was clear that you were getting quite annoyed with ATI in your other threads.

Happy gaming!

I have sapphire onces, they are pretty effective, can't go 960 core through :(

Been Doing Some More Testing.

Tryed the Black Edition clocks and voltage and Stable again

1000/1000 Xfire

Been playing in Call Of Juarez Brothers In Blood for 20 minutes and the temps where
Infact i will get ya`s a picture :D

this was at 1.425v what the XFX black edition cards are set at for 3d.

I will get a piture in a sec lol

and

as you can clearly see, the temps are utterly fantastic considering im at 1000core :D
might flash on the Back Edition Clocks to the Bios`s when i get some time in the future.

do the temps look ok guys ?
i think there great also the vrm temps are good,

though i might reduce the voltage or just leave it after all it must be safe if the Black Edition cards are useing it lol

I have an Asus TOP 4890. I fitted an Accelero S1 rev 2 to it, as the standard cooler is absurdly loud at the desktop and performs poorly for how much noise it makes. Now my card is silent at the desktop, and thanks to the Antec Tricool 120mm fan that is zip tied to the Accelero, I can easily bump up the fan speed for better cooling. So far the highest the core has got is 64 degrees!

My card does 975Mhz (core) out of the box. I tried 1000Mhz, but got artefacts in ATI Tool's artefact scanner, so it looks like it needs a small voltage bump. I do need to fit better VRM cooling, as the current (small) heatsink I have attached to the VRMs is currently held on with a rubber band! There's also some double sided thermal tape, but because the VRMs are so small, it doesn't have very good purchase.

I haven't overclocked the memory at all yet, but will at some stage. However, when not gaming or benchmarking I have the memory set at 500Mhz QDR (lowest possible in CCC), which knocks a massive 20-25W off the amount of power pulled from the mains when the card is idle!
