Hey guys,

Well my cousin from Hong Kong is comming over and I want to take her out to Cambridge, we've already decided to visit King's College, she wants to see River Cam too.
Do you guys and gals have any other suggestions on where to go?
We'll have about 5/6/7 hours in Cambridge.

Also, any info/websites is much appriciated guys and gals.
I've had a look through www.visitcambridge.org, its pretty good :)

Grantchester Meadows is lovely, punting (obviously) and try to get into more than one College. Shopping is pretty good.

+10 points if you see the odd chap on his bike, going round and round town, playing a stereo loudly from a plastic bag on the handlebars :D

Serious suggestions :|

And thanks to the rest, we will go to see the newmarket racecourse, thats on the way anyway!

I am serious! Thats the only reason I would want to go to Cambridge

Though if you are going with your bird that may not be an option.

On a less serious note go and see that actual university? Heard its pretty impressive architecture etc

Make up a picnic and go punting along the back, quite a pleasant way to spend an afternoon. You could also wander around trying to spot the chap with a lettuce on his head, and the chap who plays the guitar inside a bin should be back if you fancy seeing some of the stranger sights.

Head down to Silver Street. There are some nice restaurants and pubs there to wile away some time by the river.
Punting if a must but only if the weather is good. If in doubt about your punting skills, get a guide. If you want romance, don't! ;)
The Fitzwilliam Museum is good if you want some culture.
Take her to The Grand Arcade shopping and earn many Brownie Points. Then take her in Ann Summers to cash them in. ;)
Watch some of the street theatre/musicians. There are some gems if you're lucky.

Just a few ideas. Have a good time whatever you decide to do.

Punting is great, with the amount of time you have and if you're new to Cambridge, you'd prolly be best checking out the colleges and stuff. Personally I like to hire one for the day, load up with Pimms and Beer and head down to Grantchester. If you're lucky you can laugh at the Larpers who sometimes hang out in the meadows there.

The orchard tea garden is lovely but often far too busy - work faster shimy :)

If you're coming this week the horse auctions are on at Tattersalls before and after the racing on Wedneday and Thursday. They are fully open to the public, despite most people not realising it.
