New ATI cards out in less than month?

Thats interesting(all though game is not) that even before year out a game taking advantage of DX11. People were saying be years before DX11 is in games.

I'm sorry, but where is the credible source that released this news (that which is in the title)?

For the life of me, I can't seem to find it.

The question mark is indication it was a question and not stating a fact. I have already posted the link/s with what was posted.

Everyone knows the new ATI cards will be out before end of September, so maybe not a month, but now two.

Its one of the sources.
I have more but is there any reason to think that its made up.

Oh sorry, I didn't mean I believe it's made up. It's just that this article doesn't really say when these cards will be out, one way or the other (if that's what we're still talking about :D)

It was posted in relation to some post in this thread about when they think DX11 enabled games will start to appear .

Codemasters delays desktop edition of rally racer to implement DirectX 11 features; console, handheld editions on track for September.

During the Electronic Entertainment Expo in June, Codemasters said that its rally racer Dirt 2 would hit the gas on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PSP, Wii, DS, and PC in September. However, one of those editions has been flagged before even getting to the starting line, as Codemasters said today that Dirt 2 for the PC has slipped to December.

Dirt 2 lives up to its name.

It isn't entirely bad news for PC gamers looking to tear through Dirt 2's new courses. Codemasters said that the reason for the delay was so that the development team could implement DirectX 11 technologies into Dirt 2. The application programming interface set is expected to release alongside Windows 7--Microsoft's latest operating system--on October 22, with compatible hardware due later this year.

As for what this means to Dirt 2, Codemasters' chief technical officer Bryan Marshall noted, "We are staying ahead of the pack by immediately taking advantage of key new technologies, such as hardware tessellation, multithreading, and Shader Model 5.0 to deliver the most realistic, immersive, and exhilarating racing experiences in the business." In layman's terms, the tech aims to improve crowd animations, water effects, depth of field, and shadowing.

Is it just me, or are ATi going for past nVidia names :

58xx series next.....then, perhaps, 68xx series.....then, perhaps, 78xx series...then, perhaps, 88xx series......then, perhaps, 98xx series - no, wait, they've done that already :p

I was going to order a 4870 before i saw this thread i thought it was going to be next year when they were out now i know i am going to wait for the new ones.

As far as I can tell the new ATI DX 11 cards are coming out in October as expected. I have seen no credible evidence to suggest AMD plan to move this forward. If your 4670 is hampering your enjoyment of current games an upgrade to a 4870 sounds like a good plan, sure beats waiting months for the new latest-n-greatest to come out.

Mmmmmmm DX 10 , I wish there were cards out that could do that.

But what's that got to do with ATI? both ATI and NV do DX10 :p

For comparison from DX9, as DX10 was not used that much & when it was used it was hardly noticeable.
If that's what can be expected when someone makes the effort expect bigger difference with DX9-11 as it look as tho this time things are going to take a noticeable change.

Program for DX11 for real & DX10.1 DX10 should benefit in some way with as bigger capable base than when it was just DX10-Dx9.
