Car Bump in Private Car Park

Life in prison for your wife. How did you let her leave the kitchen? She strayed incredibly far! I think you need to get your priorities in order to be honest.

I actually sniggered when this popped up on my touch and the wifey asked what was so funny - best not tell her really :D

Anyway - been in contact and exchanged details and they were quite chuiffed that someone decent actually exists, ah but it's still the exces down the pan - bang goes my beer money for the next month or so.....

But look on the bright side, she owes you lots of bedtime credits :)

(well done to her, nice and honest - not many people like that)

My sister's Micra got written off after a car park crash - the guy just drove off. Fortunately a passer-by took his details, and she was able to claim off his insurance. This week she got a letter stating the outcome of the court case, £600 fine and 6 points on the license :D
Nice to see justice was served :D

Props to OP's missus - not enough honest people :)

Some idiot reversed into my dad's brand new Merc at Tesco and drove off. He went insane, especially as it was the first time he let my mum drive it. :p

Kudos to your wife for doing the right thing! Accidents happen... but it's nice to see there are a few good people still in the world.

If you care about your cars then never, ever move to Christchurch, New Zealand. We've got the most inconsiderate pricks who can't park to save themselves here. In the 18 months that I've been back both my wife's and my car have been significantly damaged in a carpark twice each. On the most recent occasion I had to have the bumper replaced because the damage was so great. We've never had a note on the winshield and only once did the carpark owners have CCTV installed and the camera was pointing the other ****ing way!

I find the best thing is to park next to posh/new cars :)
My missus thinks I'm daft, but I'll park miles away from the "best parking spots" to either make sure I'm in an empty area, or parked next to nice/new cars. It may not make much difference, but if there's a slim chance I park next to someone who actually cares, I'll take that chance! :D

i find if i do the same ok u might have to walk furthar but at least u know ur cars "pretty" safe without worring about scratches or dents

I do the same. It's not because I particularly care about getting dents in my old banger, it's because its easier to park where there's more free space. I can't park properly to save my life. :p

Can you really get points when only driving in a car park? It technically isn't a public road so i'm quite surprised by this, although I guess you can get done for wrecking up and down the beaches here so probably the same thing.

Im in the (un)forutunate position of having a disabled badge so I get to park in the Merc spaces, but all too often I see old people swinging their doors open without consideration to whats next to them.

I was once in a company car thankfully and parked up in a services on the M4 (probably Chievely) when a person of Pakistani origin decided they didn't have enough room to get out and thought that by pushing their door against the car harder, it would somehow magically make my car move over to let them out.

When I went ballistic, their response was "its only a car" I said "your forehead is only a bit of bone, would you be so blasse if I hit it with a hammer?" He muttered something and walked off. I asked for his insurance details because it was quite a sizeable dent, but he told me to go forth and multiply. I reported him to the police and the company I worked for at the time and they asked for CCTV from the service station, but it turns out the plates belonged to another car. :(

More proof that Women should Not operate Machinery !!!
I will forgive her though as she Fessed up, Good on her, She's a good sort.

Why are you surprised? Can you get picked up for impaired driving in a car park? How about not having a license?

Well done to your wife for leaving details.

My sister saved up for ages to buy a new car and she finally got it a week ago. She absolutely loves it. Unfortunately some ****ing **** has scraped all up the side of the car and driven off. It's absolutely infuriating.

For the purposes of the Road Traffic Act it is in that "road" means any highway and any other road to which the public has access, and includes bridges over which a road passes.
