Well, after my thread last month, I finally raised enough funds to buy my Canon EOS 1000D. Somehow, I managed to get the NON IS kit (foolishly), but even so, you can't complain for sub £350.

I'm just waiting for the battery to charge, the I can have a play

I didn't think they did the non-is 18-55 any more, I thought since the 400d(or was it the 450d) it was the is version.

I have the 300d so have the non-is 18-55 lens.

I'll still be using 35mm too, now that I have 2 enlargers. There's nothing quite like the slightly wee like smell that photographic chemicals give off
