No wonder it's so easy to get fat these days

Well, I do walk a mile to the station in the morning and a mile back, and at lunch i go for a 30 min walk...i don't really sit down all day :p

i walk for 9 hours solid for my 10 hour nightshift (although i suppose i spend maybe 1/4-1/3 of that time standing/crouching but you get the idea) and i only get about 15k, it's harder than you think ;)

If i have to resort to buying sandwich from a supermarket, I always go for the just chicken or chicken and salad without mayo, on brown if they have it.

You'd be surprised just how much of the kcal from the bread alone, your average white medium sliced bread is ~100 calories a slice, brown is ~85 calories.

My biggest snacking food is cereal though, often have a bowl around 9pm, generally things like bran flakes, special k, shredded wheat though, but still should stop really :P

I eat so much crap, but I never seem get fat, my weight has stayed rock solid for ages.

It only goes up when I go to the gym for a few months' routine.

I am trying to keep my lunch under 300 cal, and it's working for me. :)

Today i got frustrated at all the sandwiches and pasta, ended up with a packet of carrots sticks and houmous. lol

That's better than snacking on something that is pure sugar lol

If your still craving food at 9pm maybe look at eating more substantially for your evening meal!

houmous isn't great either, but better than the sandwiches (cheaper as well i bet :P). i'm trying to stick to fruit yoghurts/fruit and home made salads atm.

yep, something i and others have said a few time. prepacked sandwiches and salads in supermarket chiller cabinets are generally very bad for you (compared to doing it yourself).

i am sure last time this was brought up a few of us were laughed at for suggesting it!

I didnt eat much for my evening meal today, couldnt be bothered to make anything significant so just had a chicken breast with salad and baby spuds so knew i would feel peckish later on. I've pretty much always been the eat little but often type person.

Something ive also become quiet fond of is fruit (raspberry, blackberry, strawberry, cherries et) in a bowl with low fat/fat free biopot yougurt.

Make your own lunch from fresh food, supermarket food is generally rubbish

Fair play to you Ray for trying to lose some weight and watch what you eat. Good on you!

However, through reading your OP, it just seemed a bit...I dunno...

:p

Yes, i know

But it's now become second nature just to flip the packet on literally everything i pick up to check. :p

FYI, i've lost about 18Ib in the last 3 months with my "diet". And i still get to have some ice cream, bacon sandwich, Nandos in between. :)
