Hello all

Im writing here to see if you guys can help me and maybe help people in the future that will run into the same problem as me and not be able to find anywhere that helps.

yesterday i was trying to connect my XBOX 360 to my Media Center on my PC, But was having problems. The problem i had was the link that it sends you too to download the extender for media player is an old link and no matter where i go it keeps sending me back to the dead link, Which is http://www.xbox.com/pcsetup.

Now i was wondering if anyone knows a link that i can download this? And if you do know a link maybe we could put it in the XBOX 360 sticky under usefull link, Because it would be damn usefull!

Also one more quick thing, Does this actually work on Windows 7? Before i waste even more time for no reason!

Thankyou

I spent a good hour the other week trying to set this up. Ended up downloding TVersity and using that instead.

I couldn't for the life of me get the xbox to see the films I wanted to play (it was all setup correctly on the laptop).

Worked 'out of the box' for me on Win7. All I had to do was go into media center (on PC I think), go into 'setup extender' or something equally obvious, and then enter a number off one screen onto the other.

Ok well if i can do that without having to download anything else thats awesome!

I will be trying that tonight!

Thanks

I think I added my music and videos etc to the relevant 'libraries' in win7 first, then pointed PC media center to those, before pairing up the xbox.

I don't bother with the Media Centre Extender. I just add my media to the library under Windows Media Player and tell it to share it to the xbox. That way I can play all my xvids via the My Videos section on the xbox.

I did try MCE once, but it seemed like a lot of unnecessary eye candy getting in the way of me playing my videos, I also remember the resolution seeming really blurry.

I only set it up to see how it worked. Bonus with using an extender is if you have a TV tuner on your HTPC. Freesat cards can be had for about £35 so all those channels, inc BBC HD and stuff like that on your xbox is quite cool

Couldn't get MCE working on either of my PC's.

TVersity worked like a charm, some niggles every now and again, decided it was my reouter gettin trashed by DLs lol.

Have used TVerstiy from Vista 64Ult and XP Pro, both worked fine, also worked alongside eachother

Might as well just run an hdmi cable from the PC to the TV and get yourself an appropriate remote tbh.
