HI All,

I want to get a little run around and I'm looking at an old style Fiesta Zetec S or VTR, which one do you all think???

Get a vts, or a 106 gti. Zetec S, looks nice but doesn't go that well, same as the vtr, a lot slower than the vts.

However, if you're not that bothered about performance I'd have the fiesta, it will be more reliable than the french motors, that said saxo's will be a lot cheaper.
 
I'd have the VTR over the Zetec-S any day. Anyone who says that they "pedals are too close together" in the saxo simply cannot drive. I had no problems with my size 12's.

The saxo will be infinately more fun to throw around, but I will echo what was said above about getting a VTS instead.

Er, same engine, and except for the body styling and dashboard shape (saxo looks newer), the EXACT same car.
 
Zetec-S in my opinion. Drives nice, Better build, look nicer, safer in a crash!

Not as quick as the VTR mind.

I've never sat in a Saxo but our company vehicle is a Citroen Berlingo and if its anything like those then they were dangerously close together.

I'm a size 11 and when I first drove it I either put my head in the instrument clusters or the Citroen badge into the car infront.

Managed to workaround them and use the sides of my feet but they were far too close together for me.
 
Saxo is perfect for heel & toe, close pedals is a good thing! Wouldn't buy Citreon, get the Fiesta
 
Dangerous, lol.

I drive a Clio Sport 172 now but have owned a VTR and VTS in the past.

They are so agile, you can throw them into corners at silly speeds and there is not a single hint of body roll. The Clio does not handle as well as my VTR or VTS did.

Fantastic little cars, cheap to fix and cheap to run.

The VTR has the VTS's suspension but the leap from VTR to VTS is huge.

Get a VTS, you will not look back and the only Fiesta likely to catch you is an ST185.

The VTS had a 3* ncap, drivers, passenger and side impact airbags along with ABS.

Don't listen to the unsafety rubbish, don't crash it and you won't have to worry.
