As the Gigabyte X58 boards seem to be very very popular and with so many owners on here thanks to Ocuk and there bundles it seems a official thread for all the owners to share knowledge and tips.

Iv not touched mine yet but maybe people can share there screenies of stable clocks to help guys that are trying to get the hang of i7 and the boards many settings.

Here is a bios profile.

K need alittle advice here. Im trying to get stable at 4.2Ghz but LinX BSOD after 4 mins which makes me think its not a Vcore problem It will do 4Ghz @ 1.16v load but at the moment trying to get 4.2Ghz @ 1.23v load.

Heres my settings. Im totally lost when it comes down to all the other voltages. This is where i could do with the advice.

4.2Ghz 920 D0 BSOD after 4 mins of LinX.

I'd bump the IOH core upto 1.140v, Mine simply isn't stable at 4ghz below that, pretty much an instant BSOD as soon I start a CPU intensive task below 1.140V.

Also you may need to bump the QTI/VTT voltage in line with your Vcore and memory voltage. Some I7's like mine won't work happily with your memory running at a high 1.65ish V with out upping the QPI/VTT voltage a simlar ammount. I have my VTT @ 1.34v and memory at 1.64v , my QTT becomes unstable or it just doesn't comunicate with my memory properly at 1.32v and lower without dropping the memory voltage and speed too.

Also you CPU just might not be stable at that speed period without a higher Vcore. My vcore is set to 1.2875v in the bios, CPU-Z reports 1.248V under full load.

Hmmmm well i kinda gave up on 4.2Ghz for the mean time as anything much over 1.23v and my temps go crazy. I feel its close to been stable but needs a lot more tweaking.
