Partition Hard Drive in Win 7?

I have my drive partitioned into 2 at the moment. One for the OS and some programs. How do i split the 2nd partition into 2 making an extra partition? I am a noob so need step by step help. Cheers people

Start > Right Click 'Computer' and then 'Manage'.

Click Disk Management and then i'm sure you can do the rest

Sorry, assumed you could do this most simplest of tasks

On the partition you want to split, delete it, then create a new partition half the size and then create another one with the remaining space left over.

Jobs a good 'un.

What about all the data on that partition?

no, what you want to do is shrink that partition to half the size, or the smallest it can go, then create a new partition out of the empty space

Do you need any further help on how to do that? That will keep your data untouched.
