Hi Guys,

Having quite high temps on my stock Q6600 which is fitted with a TRUE in an original Antec P180. Temps are around 40 with speedstep enabled. I've just reseated my TRUE thinking that was the issue and also tidied up the cables for better airflow but it's not really any better. TIM is AS5.

My Q6600 is a G0 and the VID appears to be 1.2875v on Core Temp 0.99.4 and CPU Core voltage is 1.14v according to Everest. Just worked out VID mis-reports when speedstep is on, so 1.1625v was wrong.

I wonder if anyone else here has the same setup and could quote some idle temps for me. I expect it's either the room temp or the fans.

Thanks,

Mark

Sorry I can’t give you a definitive answer as I don’t have your spec but the below may be of interest given the weather:

I haven't got the same setup but i have seen my idle temps jump up markedly in the last few weeks. I've even had to drop my clock to under 3.5GHz to keep my system stable (see sig). My idle temps are now 48 (were just under 40) but my load temps are still under 70 but mixed with other clocking factors it was obviously enough to destabilise my clock.

What are you load temps like? If they’ve stayed the same/similar and you’re not getting any problems it may be a case of just getting through the summer.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I think it's more down to the room temp, which I think is around 26c and I'm not using and loud large output fans.

I just did an hour of Prime95 using the max heat generation mode (In-place large FFTs) and temps came to around 60. Max on each core was: 66, 66, 59, 59 so it seems ok.
