Personally I much prefer having a storage drive and a separate drive for OS and games.

I'd go for this for storage

it's cheap as it's on TWO, and it's only two platters. It's a bit faster than the F1.

and this for OS, programmes and games:

You chose a good thermal paste, but be aware that your heatsink will come with some applied, so you will need a way of removing that if you want to use your OCZ.

Minus the cable tidy kit and TIM, that little lot totals up to £795 delivered. I'll go see if I can make a spec to beat it.

Edit: changed price as I forgot DVD drive

I was wondering if the Biostar motherboard would be a better option? The P5Q-E seems to have a lot of features I don't care/need and I just want a good overclocker to get the E8500 as far as possible.

How does this look, performance will be quite a bit better. Its also a bit under budget, but I would normally spec a Titan Fenrir cooler (all the great coolers seem to be out of stock), If you can get hold of a TRUE, Titan or megahalems i'd recommend it.

What u think?

Edit: Bugger sorry, I accidentally read the first post as saying gtx 285, hence the price quote. If you need the budget to come down I suggest getting this card with the rest of the above spec.

I think my list would be faster than the above as I've seen the 275 continually beat the 4890 in benchies and if I manage a 4.1 or 4.2 overclock I don't think the AMD will keep up. Thanks for the suggestions though. Maybe a few months down the line I'll try AMD.

okay the 4890 beats the 275... but does it beat the 4870X2 in his spec? I think not.
