Street Fighter (SFIV, SSFIV, HDR)

Yep, the Hori's are great. If I knew now what I knew when I was buying sticks I'd get a hori and leave it at stock (owned/used Hori EX2, SE, SE modded, TE and complete custom).

Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.

Shame. If you were near Bristol/Brum I'd let you try mine.

I thought I read through all the comments last night, must have been half asleep lol didn't see that yesterday. Sounds tricky to do.

Edit: Had a go on training and it's not actually that hard to do; another useful tool to have :D

6-1???? WTF?!?! Was ojste playing with one arm tied behind his back??? lol

it was a poor connection... it was no where near close to how i play. it was borderline 3-bar connection even though it showed up as 4.

no hit confirming, no block strings... i was pretty much guessing everything which obviously goes against how i play.

ill give you an example, he was able to walk up to me 1/4 of the screen away and throw me and i couldnt get my throw break out... LOL. this happened several times. i wasn't even punishing cr.hk at all.

i really wished some of you will get the chance to play me offline one day.

edit- just noticed cav posted pics of the scores... thats pretty lame. i guarentee i would destroy you offline, but i guess i could ssay that all day and people won't care.

Cav loves lag (and winding people up :p) as he never does any hit confirm combos or anything like bulldogging that gets completely screwed by lag :p

I mean I even beat Margaret and e36 in laggy games, which should never ever happen offline.

just a shame that ill never get a chance to prove myself and im stuck playing online. i very rarely play these days anyway... its just too stressful to lose to bs

ive never had a 'good' connection vs cav ever, but this one was particularly bad.

I had great offline competition while at uni, and the prospect of only having online play sucks because it's a hugely different game online, without any of the finesse and technical skill of lag-less play.

Was only jesting fella and I even made a point of it when I posted the pictures. Wanted to show the "connection drop" out picture as well and make a joke that you rage quit on me (which you hadnt ofcourse ;))

To be fair, you werent complaining about lag when our games we're much more closer when I owned my first PS3 (before switching to the Xbox for a little stint), I never recalled you complaining about lag when you we're winning more games back then bud.

You are damned good there is no denying it since I have played you when you were on form (and with a better connection!)and Im not saying otherwise. I even told you that my game has gotten worse simply because Im having to depend on Low/High punches and kicks and not being able to fully utilise medium punch/kick simply because I hate shoulder pads.

The wife is working this Saturday... I will DEFINITELY GET THIS TE STICK OUT OF THE BOX :D and get some practice.

Is this your way of goading me into the PC tournament :D
Ah come on I have landed my fair share of combos on you, but then Guile is not that kind of player against the likes of your Shotokan characters.

The best way to settle this I think is we need a mass SF4 OCUK meetup :)

You've missed the entrance for the tournament now.

You thrashed me through single hitting moves, or 2 hit combo's as a turtle Guile, but never any more than that really. Fair do's though, if it wins, use it :)

Then I mustve pounded your head so hard that you forgot about the 4 hit sonic backhands or 3 hit flash kick combos I managed to also pull off on occasions on you!

I guess you got lucky that I missed the tourny then ;)

I've just been playing a few games on Championship Mode, and its taken me such a long time to climb to G2-D. I mean its gonna take literally forever to get right up to G2-A.
And the lag has been abysmal this evening, cant even pull off super specials due to timing issues.

reboot your router, helps me sometimes.

Did so more than once.
Like ojste said, he was getting hammered by moves which ordinarily he wouldnt have dreamed of falling for in normal 2 player action.
The same is happening this evening with me, falling for basic throws which I would easily have counter throwed.

urgh i just posted loads and pressed back by accident.

ill sum up:

connection has always been crap between us, me eating multiple sonic booms in a row just by walking towards you... that **** is easy to block/jump FADC etc on reaction offline. you will be surprised to see how quickly i can close in on someone wehn im not getting this by crap like this

i didnt complain in the past because my game was different back then... i was largely reliant on punishing rather than a solid hit confirm game

your game is mostly defensive zoning with BnB SAFE 2 hit max combos, equivlant of me using only cr.mk -> hado with ryu/ken.... its totally uneffected by lag but thats not how i play offline so im not gonna change online for the sake of the connection.

SF favours zoners.
online favours zoners even more.
online favours basic gameplay.

i will teach you the basic ken hit comfirm combo and you can see how the ken's simplest combo is a nightmare online.

cr.lk, cr.lp, hp.shoryu - yes every part of this is a link and its the most basic ken combo... first link is easy though.
cr.lk, cr.lp - this is the hit comfirm part.. if it HITs you follow through with the hp.shoryu link. if its blokced, you get many options but to keep it simple just spam cr.lp (turn it into a block string basically)

you can see the huge flaw in this when lag is involved. you lose the ability to hit confirm, you lose the ability to time properly... your gaurenteed combo from hitting someone, followed by a knockdown and followups suddenly has a high chance of becoming a messed up link and you eating something huge.

once you get the hang of it offline, you can try that online and tell my your experiences - and that is basic ken before you factor in the big combos/kara-throws. and yes you can screw all this and just use safe safe cr.mk->hado to get by online but this just not the way to go
