But Samsung has customised it so that you may never (or very rarely) have to see the windows interface, and it's customisation goes deeper than any of current HTC units (i believe).

Also comes with the ability to upgrade to Win Mo 6.5.

Good specs but totally ruined it with the OS they are running it on...should have went Android or Symbian tbqh...anything but Winmo:p

Meh, Windows 6.1 + resistive touchscreen surely make this a phone to avoid.

Stick a capacitive screen on it & surely this would have been an ideal candidate for Android to really start showing off.

About time phone manufacturers started to drop Windows Mobile and force Microsoft to actually make a phone OS thats usable and doesn't need a bloody server to run it at a normal pace.

That or at least start giving user the option of which OS they want on it.

Wouldn't it be nice to pick a phone and then be asked "what operating system would you like sir"...

WinMo 6.5 does nothing and changes hardly anything period & I'll bet that no matter how they customise it, the same nightmare minature menus still exist.

The whole OS needs designing from the floor up to bring it into the 21st century.

Could always dream...:p:D

Would love to see this sort of device on a blackberry OS, it would seriously rock...one thing that kinda annoys me about BB is the fact that its virtually the same specs on each model...albeit with little changes here or there but nothing really groundbreaking...saying that its gonna take one hell of a device to take me away from BB though.

im going to get one , sim free soon as they are out ....but do they come with a 5mp camera or an 8 ??? seen a few reviews on net and a few say 5 and some others say 8 !!

still love my original omnia but new one does look pretty nice !!!

You cant have Winmo with a capacitive screen, it isnt compatible.

Exactly right. I also heard you can't use a stylus with a capacitive screen, so handwriting recognition is out. I need Windows Mobile for all the specialised applications available. It's just been around that much longer.

It comes with a 5mp camera, auto focus, dual-LED flash. The prototypes came with an 8mp camera, but this was subsequently dropped.

No you can't, which is why Resistive is >* (and due to the fact you can use gloves and anything else you please).

I don't quite get the hatred for resistive screens either, it seems it's another of those "tried it 3 years ago and it was rubbish" things. Modern resistive screens are pretty much on a par with capactive screens, with the added benefit of less power consumption, better accuracy and the ability to use non fleshy items.

I wonder if the "advanced" part of the resistive screen means they have picked up on that tech that was floating around a few months ago, if so you capactive screen lovers will be begging for it! ;)

Looks an ok phone, but again it looks a bit like a toy, just not smart enough for what I would want.
