Damn resolution on my laptop can't fit it all in :D

I've included the basics, key board, mouse, monitor. If you need anything else you can downgrade these things to save a bit more. You could also save a bit more by going for a 4890 or a 275.

I wouldn't spend that much on a gaming PC. You'll get something that's just as powerful for probably around half the price and you can use the rest in another 1-2 years to upgrade it.

A friend of mine is having his pc paid for by his workplace (reward for finishing a project months ahead of schedule) and asked about a spec :)
Obviously a smaller price is better as it makes him look less greedy but they have given him up to 2k to spend,

this is for everything, monitor, keyboard etc.. aswell

Cheers for the specs so far

Thats what I would get right now if I had this amount of cash ;-).
Complete build with mouse, keyboard, monitor and so on...

But that would be mainly to play around with it and OC the heck out of it;-).

Otherwise i'll just pick 80-100GBP AM2+ mobo, with good set of DDR2 PC8500, phenomII X2 550 and 2 smaller HDDs for raid0 setup with 4770 in crossfire or single 4890. Would be about 1/3-1/4 of the price and just as good for gaming ;-).

money in there to get a case which he likes.

I've selected two monitors, you can always change which monitors, or reduce to just one.

For £2k you don't want to be messing around with AMD P2s.

you gotta be joking 4 HD4890  and the mobo can only take two I think ;) or 3 can't tell by the pic its pixellated :(

na that board won't fit 4 dual cooler cards :| properly fit 3 and than it will block everything

Asus_M4A79T_3Q_09.jpg

even two HD4890 beat a GTX295 in most situations, in fact thats the best combo you can have

*edit* two X2s is just sick
