True, the back is perhaps the most contentious part of the exterior design.

The launch pictures really don't do this car any justice. Admittedly the back has brought on a lot of split opinions but I can say in the flesh, this car is stunning. Also the drive is something special as well, brought together with the new 3.0 diesel, hopefully Jaguar will shift some of these!

The old shape XJ is looking really dated so they've done the correct thing, they can't keep aiming new cars at the nearly dead.

Very basicly heres how XJ's have aged (some pics are of complete bangers) they all follow the same styling as the previous one, god know how they come to the conclusion of next years XJ.

Eww.

It's completely lacking in all the class of earlier XJs; looks more like a more muscular version of things like the Mondeo and the other similar looking hatchbacks trundling around our roads. And that rear end is downright ugly.
