Behind you... Naked!
Unsure as to whether its the Windows or the Networks pages I need this in so I decided to put it here... Mods welcome to move if they feel its hsould be elsewhere.

Anyway, My main PC has both the 32Bit and the 64Bit Service Pack 1 for Vista in a folder.

I have just reinstalled Vista onto a PC, and so, I went to grab SP1 for it from my Master PC... It kind of kept hanging and then telling me that it could not copy the file?

Ok, why I dont know, but...

I came down and tried to move it up to the other PC but no?

I tried to copy it to a PC that it was able to before, but again, not having any of it?

Now, just to clarify somehting, the PC that I have just done the fresh install onto, I have just copied a massive array of ISO files, some are well over 4GIGS each from the master PC, so its clearly not an issue with the file sizes of the data transfer.

I have simply tried to installed SP1 over the network but it has not let me do that eithjer.

I then simply copied the files onto a Flash disk and installed the SP that way.

I never had a problem doing that at all???

So, here is my question...

why was it not letting me copy or install the SP over the network ?

Possibly I had thought of that, but the entire drive and everythign one it I have full access to, just not the SP1 files.

I have set the entire drive to shared, and full R/W access to anyone and everyone and indeed, I have verified these files and their flags are the same as any other files, and of course the folder they are in too, is no different?

Weird.

Ok, last night, I did another test...

I kind of wished that I didnt, but its given a whole new angle on the issue.

Using an XP ( 64Bit SP2 ) PC, I was perfectly able to copy the Files up over the network and onto the XP HD, and then I was able to copy them over to the Vista PC ( This one is now SP1 though as I did it through the Flash Drive last night as I said )

So, this means that there was no real attributes that stopped a PC from getting the files... Only a Vista one?

Im really confused. Im thinking that its not a setting but more of a corruption somewhere... Not in the files themselves or the Hard Disk, because I updated the PC to SP! just fine, but somewhere else?

Oh yeah of course.

I did read that sometime a while back and I kind of didnt care.

I think thats because at the time I was using XP.

Now I am moving my PCs to Vista, Im seeing things I like and things that are bloody crappy with Vista.
