Glad they didn't put the doctor in. Russell T. Davies still managed to ruin it, ANOTHER deus ex machina in the last 5 mins followed by a cheesy inappropriate ending :(

The end climax needed more but apart from that i enjoyed it, sad day there is going to be no more Torchwood really enjoyed it.

Well i guess that really is the end of torchwood with only gwen left and pregnant.

A very dark little story overall, and not a everythings all happy and fine ending, they saved the world but at a cost.

Children of Earth was ok overall but i would have liked to have had more focus on the aliens then some of the pointless characters.

Damn i missed it, it hasnt updated on iplayer yet, does anyone know how long it usually takes to appear on iplayer after its been on air.

I dont know how much truth there is in it, but from what I've heard the BBC is intending to axe Torchwood as a series prior to the new Dr Who coming onto the scene. So I guess if that is the case, then its entirely possible that this will be the end of the show.

Looks like what I had heard was true then. Pity, always thought Torchwood had the scope to develop into a decent "adult" sci-fi show. Looks like what I heard a few weeks back about the BBC coming to the decision that Torchwood was incompatible with the upcoming new "younger doctor" and would be axed before his arrival were true. Shame that they just didnt decide to cut all ties with Who and make it stand more as its own show. But thats the BBC for you I guess.

Here's a thought. If the 456 had come here and said they wanted 10% of our chav's and gypo's do you think we'd fight them off or ask them to take 100%?

funnily enough a lot of people in the army are what you would call chavs, have you ever met any paras?

That is a shame as I don't intend to watch doctor who when the new lad takes over it just won't be the same Tennant made that role his own.

Bloody hell you would think that by now i would have learned to expect crap endings from BBC sci fi shows. Yet again this one didn't fail to "not deliver" Entire threat removed in 2 mins flat. frankly dull and boring end.

The whole MIB "Torchwood" thing could have been milked for all its worth not sure why they killed off so many people. TBH by the end of the 4th episode i would have happily seen them all die if it would make a more exciting show.

I have always been a big sci-fan but this ones not really floating my boat any more. great potential wasted.

May be they will go fo an ultra X rated Adventures of Capt Jack as he "bums" his way around the galaxy getting into sexy adventures.

I disagree with this as I thought the ending was very good and quite harsh though an actor with any gravitas could've certainly pulled it off better than John Barrowman. Fair enough the deus ex machina reared it's ugly head again but that is to be expected with Davies unfortunately but at least this time it wasn't someting spectacularly idiotic so as to spoil everything that had gone before. With regards to the cheese, there was very little other than the parting of the ways though I was expecting a kiss and make up between Jack and his daughter. Overall these five episodes were really enjoyable but could've been a bit tighter, maybe condensed into four episodes. Why did you feel the ending was innapropriate?

I remember people saying this back when the second doctor replaced the first.

Eccleston only did 1 series so you didn't really know what to expect as it was the start of it again after so long, Tennant has done 3 along with the specials so he has really made the part his own for me, i will watch the last special with Tennant then that's it for me.

I think he was referring to when William Hartnell was replaced by Patrick Troughton.

I think I agree though, I don't like the new guy, and David Tennant was fairly epic.
