A question to pc gamers

You don't have to upgrade your PC.
If people are happy with the lack of AA/AF with an avg 30fps at 720p then even a 1900xtx is more than enough.

Resale value has never entered my mind, i give my console games away after im done.

You are wrong actually a high percentage of console gamers now are ex pc gamers that are fed up having to upgrade every 6 months.

Nobody wants to play games on low details.

What a contradiction.

No one has to upgrade every 6 months, if they do its because they want to.
The avg PC is prebulit non enthusiast & these people don't know the word upgrade in the first place.
Most of the console users are not ex PC enthusiasts.
My friends don't upgrade a single component for at least 2 years besides the harddrive.

If you play on consoles then you are playing on low details with out a choice.

Whether a game is made purely for the pc or multi platform i don't care i only want a decent game who makes and what they make it for originally doesn't bother me at all. As for the upgrading every 6 months for decent play lol just lol only hardcore enthusiasts upgrade that often and it is mainly for bragging rights or benchmarking not because the performance is that much better. As long as good games appear on the pc i am happy.

I am. :)

It's called trolling.

Seems that way to be honest :)

Previous posts by m4cc45 and a few others have said most of my views on this.

As to "what makes you think that developers should develop lots of pc exclusive games?"
I think its great that every platform gets a few exclusives. But why does the PC seem to get more than the major 3 consoles? I think PC gaming is a different market than them, developers feel like they can try out pretty much anything or do anything whilst with consoles they are restricted with technology that is pretty much set in stone once the console gets on the production line.

Also the types of game effect this, i mean, could you imagine something like Arma2 on the 360? or the Total War series?, Civilization? Stalker? etc to name but a few. Things like controls and there actually being a market for these sorts of games on consoles? i don't think so

Certainly types of games on pc are over tbh.

All that will be left is FPS/RPG and MMOs like WOW, etc.

The rest will be ported from consoles months after their release.

I have never understood this arguement that priracy has killed PC gaming. Its just an excuse not to bother with PC's as much. Have you seen the amount of Xbox 360 pirate games to download???? 360 piracy is huge!!!

Yes but Pc games sell for less as well and I actually think the days of the desktop pc are numbered.

Who buys them these days ? Most people go for laptops

I prefer to play FPS with a pad now. Much better feeling of interaction and feedback.

K+M are too easy to use.

If ease of use is your defining caveat for not using something, then why are you using a console? Even taken without the glaring contradiction what you just came out with is well down twoddle road.

I would never be without my desktop. It's so much better than my laptop. The only reason I have a laptop is because of work - it's okay in an emergency to play UFO or something else but I would never use it as my main PC.

If there was never another game released the back catalogue I could go through for the PC is huge. I'd be playing it for years.

I guess you have to remember that some games on the PC are now on the consoles. It's sort of reversed the process over time. For example GTA was on the PC then PS shortly afterwards. Now it's PS / XBox then PC for certain titles.

PC is still a massive market and stores such as Steam are exploiting it.

I think PC gamers get a bit upset because they don't like to feel like they are getting a dumbed down product like some have mentioned, full of glitches, poor performance, lack of features etc.

There are many reasons for me liking PC more than console, I think the major 2 for me is the modding community and the fact that PC has always been graphically ahead. There are other reasons too like better patch support, free online, ability for more features thanks to large hard drives.

Amen to that, most pre-built PC's are over priced crap because the majority of people aint got a clue what they are looking at other than 'ooooh a shiny PC'. And don't get me started on laptops, they are a bigger waste of dolla for gaming.

lol, just lol.

I am hopefully going to be ordering TRACKIR this week to further the immersion and overall experience of Arma2, GRiD & FSX to name a few.

TRACKIR, coming to a console soon?

Well, you do. Really. Try playing Arma2 on a 6800 and you will see what I mean. It struggles on my 8800 and I have no intention of upgrading for a while.

I am getting fed up with PC gaming, although I am enjoying CoJ2 a lot. I am also enjoying Deadspace on the 360 a lot more. The fact you have to use a controller, which I am useless at, adds to the tension as one of those...uh, things... lumbers after you.

What people may not realise, given that it is a hardware enthusist forum, is that most people either cannot or will not upgrade their hardware. It is a neverending cycle with a servere law of diminishing returns. I am generally using my PC to sequence more, play games less. The 360 is neat, does what it says on the tin and is cheap.

Snip!
That is half the problem.
For what some people pay at purple for a PC i could bulid them something better for the same money with some new & reused parts.

There was some backlash at Intel in the past for not having gfx that ship with many prebuilts with worthwhile gaming capability & its still a problem today.
