Noctua NH-U12P SE1366 vs. titan fenrir

I had the same problem, the Fenrir was touching my ram, and pushing excessive heat through it.

Plus the noise was a pain.

Changed it for a Noctua, but the temps are about the same. maybe 1c or 2c better at most.

Have a Noctua on mine and temps hit 70-75c at full load @ 4Ghz.
Its a bloody brilliant cooler, ther mounting system is frankly the BEST I have ever seen.
And its soooooooooo quiet, I cant even hear it above my case fans.

Same here - get 70 on 3.8 with the OCuk bundle - I had the bundle with included the titan but I dumped that due to the noise and the fact I was getting over 80c in temps - the Noctua dropped it down to 70 straight away

they gave me a noctua with my 4ghz bundle that i bought a few weeks back too. was going to call up and ask for the fenrir but then read some peoples comments on the fenrir on here and checked the price on the site and decided to keep it since it does a great job anyway

the megahalems is the best

the noctua and fenrir outperform the TRUE in the testing i did for the OcUK 4ghz bundle

Turns out I'm getting 85 at full load on both the titan and the noctua at 3.8ghz on the i7 - is this about right. Reason I though it was lower than that originally was because the bios had reset itself earlier on back to stock!

What voltage are you at and how did you put the TIM on?
Best way I find is the thin layer with the clingfilm method.
Under prime I top out at about 80c, but in real would use its more like 70-75c.
And its soooooooooooooooo quiet

But yes rjkoneill is correct, the MEGA is THE DADDY of air cooling right now coupled with a pair of Noctua fans.

Wasnt there so much talk from ocuk suggesting the fenrir was way better especially in the 4ghz bundle ?

Yet the noctua is more silent and holds stable temps at 4ghz....

You have to weight it up a bit.
Yes the Noctua is just as good and quieter BUT the Titan costs half the price.
