looking for a handset to replace my dying k750i (faulty microphone).

it must have memory card support (memory stick duo or M2)

phone will only be used for music, phone calls and texting with occational use of the camera

the price is NOT for a contract but handset only

£100 is my maximum budget, but prefer to be lower i also dont mind new or second hand

Try and pick up another K750i from somewhere. It's actually the best SE phone I've had, ever. Since having that I've had both the K850i and C902, both of which boast better features, but are kinda slow. The K850i is buggy and prone to breaking as well.

Nothing on the C902 has broken yet, but I'd imagine it's out of your budget. The K800i/K810i aren't that bad either, but I've never owned them - only played with.

thanks for reminding me about the k850is faults, the k800i/k810i look tempting, and will be even more so if they use the same battery as the k750i

Different battery, but the k800/810 usually lasts a week with some phonecalss and pics taken etc anyway.

Loved my old K750i and my K800i.

The K800i shaded it simply because of its outstanding camera and bigger screen.

Even today a lot of modern 5mp & 8mp camera phones pale in comparison to the 800i imo.

It was also the last phone SE made without having a 75% return rate.

Does the k800i have a LED light as well as the flash unit, or just the flash unit? (LED light is amazingly useful!)

the LED on my k750i is very useful for me so another SE phone with that feature wouldnt go amiss

Has an orange focus assist light for the camera, this can be used as a torch with a 3rd party app (pretty easy to find).

The K850 was the first one with both unfortunately.

I never had any problems with my k850 TBH, and looking at all the threads posted on here there seemed to be two camps, the people that never broke a phone, and the others that broke about half a dozen, which to me implied more recklessness than a easy to damage phone as such. :)

However there really wasn't much of a step up from the K800, which itself was a brilliant phone, and actually took a better picture, with less noise and more flash control.

So yeah i'll go with everyone else and say get the k800/810 (depending on which one you like the look of more).

I have a w810i and like it, not sure if you can get them new but they should be ~£40 I'm guessing second hand. It's pretty much the walkman version of the k750i IIRC, only gripe is it doesn't have flash on the camera (if thats what you want).

I hate my k750i, same problem as my previous k700i, it fell down once hard and had a worse signal since, until that is it fell again and it was better after that again, but something sucks in terms of the connection with the antenna inside the phone. The joystick is getting unresponsive and the phone is dead slow reading my 4gb MS pro duo ( windows/cardreader read it fast ). The camera quality inside/under artificial light/at night is appaling too :(.

I'd get the W810i, same as the k750i but without the joystick hassle, aside from that it's pretty much the same phone. As said above should be around 30-40 quid now 2nd hand, I bought my k750i 2nd hand 2 years ago for 50€ anyways.
