Holy Crap!

What on Earth? Infinity Ward community manager Robert Bowling has made a YouTube video of himself unboxing the absolutely epic "prestige edition" of Modern Warfare 2 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. When we say "epic," we're talking "it includes working night vision goggles" epic. Also in the box is a voucher code for downloading the previously rumored PSN/XBLA version of the original Call of Duty. This plus a steel game case, art book and a custom molded plastic head for displaying your working night vision goggles on. (But of course!)

There's no mention of a retail price for the set, but we can't imagine it'll be anything less than stupid crazy expensive. We're also working to find out when and if Activision intends to distribute the downloadable remake of the CoD that started it all. Check out the unboxing after the break -- but only after ensuring that your socks are safely and securely pinned to your pants.

Doubt the googles will be as good as some of the ones you can buy...

Because real night vision goggles cost LOL ammounts...

Still looks awesome, how much is it?

To be honest after digging around and looking closely at the pics its looks like cheapo nvgs so basically binoculars with irleds on the front for limited range lol.

This.

Proper NVG are very expensive.

I still expect this edition to cost close to or even over £100 tbh.

that the kind they use for those wildlife documentaries? where they set up the huge Ir lamps the animals can't see and all it's kinda grey?

yes, but these use small LEDs around the centre lens, meaning they'll be rather pitiful anywhere other than indoors at close range.

proper NVGs, ie, generation 2 or better, cost $2000+ :(

what happens if you buy a ****ing huge flashlight with a massive IR bulb :p

it'll work great, but anyone else with any sort of IR-viewing equipment (a phone cam, for example) will be able to see you plain as day :p

yeah looking at this my old video camera did pretty good night vision for indoors (and close outdoors) with IR.

may as well just use that, it has zoom too :D

Do people really expect proper NV goggles though? If they did include half decent ones that would bump the price up and people would be complaining and say "I NOT PAYING THAT LOL!"

It doesn't matter how good the NV goggles are or how exlusive the artwork book is or steely the game box is.

The only useful thing in the box is the game.

The NV goggles will take longer to put on your head than you will spend wearing them and the words "What a pile of crap" will exit your mouth as you take them off. :)
