Will you take the Swine Flu Jab?

I'll have the jab. I have a flu jab every year anyway because I'm asthmatic. I've never had a problem with it before so I don't expect problems this time either.
Had to laugh at some of you big, tough guys making every excuse under the sun for not having a tiny little jab in the arm. Come on, man up! It doesn't hurt (much) and nursey might be worth the effort :D

No I like to pass injecting substances into my body when I can. I'd rather contract swine flu normally, fight through it, then enjoy the benefits of a stronger immune system ;)

Of course it means nothing if the flu gains some levels and powers up, then I've pretty much had it.

I'll beg, borrow and steal to get the swine flu jab if I have to. There's a lot we aren't being told about this new disease.

What about food shopping and the like?

Tesco delivery ;) and the wife can answer the door

I think for the last two weeks I haven't been outside near other people, been out in the car for a drive but just not near anybody else, I must be turning into a hermit lol

What if you Wife gets it?

I believe it won't be ready till September and then it will be offered to high-risk cases first i.e. those with ill health or pregnant women.

I wont go out of ym way to get it but if someone offers me it why not eh

Sarcasm? Nobody would give a hoot about it if the media weren't doing their best to keep the artificial hype alive.

Quite.

The only way to be sure of avoiding it would be for nobody in your household to go out, and to answer the door while wearing a face mask to avoid getting it from callers. You'd also have to be very careful to throughly wash your hands after touching anything that the caller gave you, like shopping.

Personally I probably wouldnt bother, I trust my immune system against flu. But since I will be working in the NHS I imagine occupational health will come and attack me with the thing so I wont get much choice.

You do have a right to devline. You are also in a position to properly gain "informed consent". Google gullian barre, happened to "some" of the previous influenza vaccines. Then again, you could get GB from H1N1 anyway since its a virus.

As for people thinking vaccination would prevent getting a more virulent strain, once it mutates to do so, it could be "different" enough to make the current vaccine useless, and you wont be immune.

So, all those thinking, read up the literature, and make your own minds up. Or discuss with your doctor/nurse.
I havent decided myself yet.

You can't be immune to something you have never had or had a vaccination against, would you go to Africa and when someone offers you a Maleria tablet say "no thanks, my immune system's awesome".
